Any skimmer suggestion with 125g DT?
Hello,
I'm thinking about the type of BK skimmers with my 125g normal load SPS display tank. I prefer a double cone 180, do I make a good choice? |

The DoubleCone 180 + RD3 is a great skimmer, it'll do well on a 125g SPS, though it may be a little on the large side. If you were running a LPS/Softie tank, I'd say go with a smaller tank.
You'll be running that skimmer anywhere from 20-30 watts, most likely. All dependent on your water(salinity, temps nutrient levels), sump depth etc...

I normally suggest starting between 18 & 22 watts. Some run more but I prefer the added contact time at the lower speeds. The foam is also a bit thicker and slower moving at lower speeds. In cases where the load is much lower, customers often use a higher speed to maintain better consistency.
