Mixing salt water by hand
Hi all, Would it be possible to mix salt in a 5l water bottle with the lid on and then shake it to mix it?
Thank's for reading. |

I don't see why not. I've mixed it plenty of times in a 5 gallon bucket using a paint stirrer.

Hi sde1500, thank's for your input! I alway's mix with a powerhead when doing 25l water change's and i've had no problem's. Do you think mixing by hand would cause problem's to overall level's as far as aeration goes? If that make's sense
Thankyou! |

24 hrs prior a wc I fill up a 5 gallon bucket and add prime and salt to match the sg of my tank. Throw a powerhead and heater in there so i'm sure the salt is dissolved and the temp matches my tank's temp. Empty the equivalent volume and then add the new water.
In case of evaporation, i just add ro water. i check the sg 2-3 times a week to make sure levels are good. |
