Flow from RD230W
I was just curious, what is the actual flow rate of the RD230 with 0 head. I have seen some estimates in the mid 5k GPH and some in the mid 6k GPH. I was just wondering what could be expected out of these pumps. Great flow either way!
Thanks, |

Max theoretical flow is over 6000 GPH but even a 0' head won't account for head loss as a result of friction and fittings. I have two on my system and they are absolute beasts and are dead silent. When I setup my first RD3 230 on my closed loop, I actually thought it was broken because it made no noise let alone vibration. It wasn't until I saw the sand blasting out from under my live rock that I knew it was working fine. I run one for my return pump also and both have been installed for just about 2 years.
