Magnesium Off Charts
Hey everyone ...I am using Reef Crystals and my mag is off the charts I have used red sea magnesium test kit and nyos. Red sea is about 1750 and nyos was off chart!?!? I do not dose magnesium just standard 2 part from BRS and nopox.
Any thoughts Thanks Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk

I have the same problem after WC just not as bad with Reef Crystal. Mine will go to from 1380 to 1450. I hear some other brands will raise the levels even more. The only way to quickly lower Mg is typically to do water changes but that is not an option in this case as you would have to use another brand of salt, that may do more harm than good. I think dosing using Kent Calcium and Sodium Bicarbonate to keep the Alk and Ca steady should bring down the Mg over a period of days or weeks depending on your tanks demands. I would stop using 2 part as that will just add more Mg. When things are back to normal then go back to the 2 part.
