Diy Auto off help

I'm trying to do a diy ato w/relay. I wired everything as the diy video I have seen. When I wire the float switch to the dc adapter and into the relay. The relay clicks once when the float switch activates but I cant make it reset by moving the float switch.

It's as if the float switch shorts the dc adapter when Its activated. I am using the right pins because with out the float switch the adapter powers and clicks the relay when I unplug the dc adapter. Really at a loss for words.
