Sorry to hear about the tank. I can't imagine how I'd react to something like that. But it's great to see that you are already thinking of improvements for the next setup.

I guess in the big scheme of things a display tank is one of the cheaper components in most systems. If all your fish and coral pull through (they should, it sounds like you guys have an AMAZING club in your area with lots of people willing to help out) you should be back on your feet in no time. I wish you the best of luck!

On a side note, have you been able to diagnose what caused the split seem yet? Bad manufacturing?

i want to look into a 8' x 30" x 30". I think it will fit the area but need to check when I get home next week

I love the 36" tall tank but it was a real pain to get to the front bottom. plus is i lower the stand 6" I may be able to get a 12" opening in the front on the top of the tank.

I also want to build in some major wave considerations but want everything external. A concept I've been kicking around for a while is a closed loop set up that has 8 returns or more but on 2 cycles. One cycle would be upper left and lower right on, then upper right and lower left on. this would cause the tank to circulate clockwise then counter clockwise

another thought is building in some sort of external wave boxes and overflow combinations at each end
Those are some nice dimensions. I was planning on something similar with the 220g tank that I ended up not setting up. Paul at OceansMotions is a great guy to talk to and bounce ideas off of as well.

I was looking for my old diagram, but apparently I deleted it. Anyway, I borrowed the idea from pwhitby and there is a diagram and explanation in his TOTM article.

Pete,

Sorry to hear about the trouble... Been in and out on business and am just catching up on threads tonight. Wish there was something I could do...

Hang in there!
