Good Morning Mike,
I will post some pics when I get it mounted and looking right. I have not even had a chance yet to mount it. Mike, are your corals popping better with the Razor then when you had T5's ? I know the shimmer is awesome with the LED's. A friend brought over a few Kessils. I was amazed at how blue they where, yet did not wash out any of the yellows and reds. Very nice indeed. So far the Razor looks to be awesome and the price is very affordable |

Good Morning to you too.
It's a totally different look. They definitely pop better. I found with the T5 corals were washed out. The Blue Plus ati just washed everything out.

Mike,
Thanks for the info! Still leaning toward the Razor. I guess a few years and it will pay for 50% of the purchase price. No bulb replacment and a bit lower on the electric bill. How are your corals looking? Are they darkening at all after cutting back on light run time? Seems there is certainly a learning curve with the LED's! Your my LED professor!LOL! Im a night owl so I like the lights to come on later and stay on passed dark. I like daylight for ramping and during sunset ramping down the day light to keep blue lights on for actinic lighting. personal taste. |

Mike,
How are the corals looking? Any noticable changes from this past week? Just curious as to how it's going! I got my plumbing mocked up finally on the tank. I just need to fill it with water for a mock up run and see how it does. Hoping to work on the stand later today..... |

Mine did the same thing . What is brilliant about this light is how wide the spectrum is, you can at some points just change the dials 2 or 3 % and get totally different colors

I was leaning towards this lighting system as well. I do like how you can pre-set photo period for daytime and nighttime. I am assuming it's like a timer. Am I correct Mike? I've been debating between the other two lighting system I was looking at:
Marineland Reef Capable LED Lighting System w/Timer 24” - 36” http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...id=23687&r=518 or this one: Marineland Pro Lighting 24-Hour Lighting System 36” http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...394&s=hl&r=518 |

The Razor has two preset lighting schedules or you can set your on schedule with the 6 built in timers that you can set along with the intensities of both channels.

I am getting a photographer friend in to take some good shots, but what I have noticed in a week. Meteor shower polyps extending twice there size, frogspawn fenlarged and coloring up, duncans showing true color not washed out brown. In fact all those dull reddish browns have gone replaced by purples and greens, all coral showing positive signs except bta who legged it under a rock and hasn't come out since - sad clowns

I set up my 120 16k about a week ago over one side of a 55 gallon. On the other side I have a DE 150 w/14k and 2 exotec actinics. I took some pics with my phone camera but I have had trouble uploading to the site. I definately like the razors look, very sleek. I have the color dialed in to match my set MH/LED side. It is set up on A 50% B 70% for six hours then the actinics come on at 11:00-11:00. I will try to take get the pics uploaded I think it will be a cool experiment to see the progress over time with growth and color. If your thinking of purchasing this LED my intial recommendation would be to purchase it. It seems to be a high quality product for a very competitive price against other LED's and MH's if you consider the cost of bulb replacement and cost of a quality MH set up.

The colors of the Razor seem to be very nice! They seem to have gotten the correct spectrum right on target the first time. What further impresses me is the PAR output compared to many other EXPENSIVE fixtures out on the market. It actually seems to put out more PAR then fixtures costing twice the price.
Due to the Razors 3 spread out pucks, your getting 2 for the price of one it seems compared to many other fixtures. I like it alot! khawyc, Nice colors! Amazing! I love that strong blue look that does NOT wash out other red and green colors in coral tissue. Seems those Epileds LED Super blues.............................ARE THE CATS PAJAMA'S..................LOL |

Seems like a slick fixture. Would 3x120W or 2x160W be better on a 180?

I saw the unit live in an expo that was taking place in Athens this weekend!
All i can say is that it looks soooooooooo sleek! Seeing the 160W in person over a 39X23x20 I have the felling that 39x23 is the maximum area it can cover without having any shadow spots on the edges with an SPS useful area of maybe 30X20!
