All done!
I have 3 D120's 28B/27W with 90 degree optics on order. Will post pics and impression when they are plugged in. Going from pretty crappy lighting to these should be huge.
Now I just have to tear down this tank/sump and replace it with the one that has been sitting here for months waiting to be set up.

Those are the lights that I have been talking to Lyn Wang at Twilight about. He told me that they use 0-10v dimmers and they should work with an APEX. I am currently getting information on a unit that has the same dimensions but uses 80 3W LED's as opposed to 55.

D120

do you guys think the D120 w/optics will be enough light for my 45 gal mixed reef. was looking at the E shines but the prices w/shipping are pretty high. i was gonna just buy a small light for my 24 gal anemone tank to get rid of the 150w viper clip on light but now am considering the D120 for the DT.. I currently have a 250w 20k MH with 4 24 watt T5 on it now and was wondering if this would do a better job.. dimensions are 30x18x?.. thanks and also was considering getting one of the evergrows for the 24 gal also what would you guys reccommend.. And whats the consensus on the colors? do custom as stated above or get one of there pre made ones with either UV or the violet.. sorry for the rant

Ok guys I need your help before I place my order!

Here is my new setup after talking with them about how to run the led's for the dimmer (so hopefully they can do it):

My questions are the following:

1) I was reading that for white 4500k is highly recommended.
Evidently the 10000k won't look good with all the blue. I heard the following regarding coral growth:

6500k = most growth, but also equals butt ugly.

10k = good growth, better color

14k = marginal growth, much better color

20k = even less growth, but very awesome color

The problem is they don't offer 4500k just the following:

W(3000-3500k)
W(6000-6500k)
W(6500-7000k)
W(7000-7500k)
W(7500-8000k)
W(8000-8500k)
W(10000-12000k)
W(12000-14000k)
W(16000-18000k)

So what should I choose, right now I have 6 NW and 10 CW (see diagram)?

2) How should I arrange the dimmers?
Right now I have the red and violet running on the blue dimmer and the whites running on the other with the rest of the blues. I see lots of people putting the violet with the whites but didn't know why.

3) Any additional criticism or recommendations please...

Thanks! - Gotta get this order in soon.

Seems 4500K is not a problem.

I've read Lps don't like led has this been a problem for anyone? I'm about to get 3 d12b for my 6' 100g what do you recommend for color spectrum? I like the bright white and blue and pink. Mainly Lps and some sps want growth and color.

You don't even need a Apex with that one. If its at a good price, its nice the way it is.

About 2 months in and my LPS are doing great. Just keep them toward the bottom of the tank. I have some SPS at the top doing well too.

If you follow the link I posted (click where I wrote about 4500k) it seems they are saying to stay away from 10000k and use 4500k but it is not offered. I thought most people were getting 10000k. Supposedly it is too much blue however I thought 6500k is what coral liked but may lead to algae. As far as dimmers go there are only 2 so what should I do?

Yes please let me know how these lights work out, I have a 125 with 8 T5 bulbs for a total of 640 watts but bulb replacement is killing me so I am looking at getting 3 of these fixtures to replace my T5. Any input would be greatly appreciated

Aside from someone having a controller break in an Eshine light, everyone else has had good experiences so far.

They look really nice in person.. far higher in quality than you think it would look. These aren't Odyssea lights by any means.

Yep, That was me , I just got the Light Tuesday.
I am impressed with the build of this unit.
I like the 3 dimmers & moonlight feature.
The reds & greens shimmer nicely...but it has a little splotchy look on the rocks at full power ( but I do not run them @ full power anyway. So to be honest ,it's no big deal. I have been trying to take pics...But my camera only pulls the blue lights. I will continue to try untill i get a decent pic ,, then post it .
