Supposedly you can get a 0-10v dimming analog driver for these d120's I was going to ask Sunny or Sam tomorrow as I just saw them this morning.

it sell for US $173.25 but are there any additional charges on top of the price?
No free shipping (included) says right there. Also that is the one with optics just so you know. It is 165.00 without.

Would one of the D120s be give enough coverage (spread) and intensity over a 65gal tall softy tank (36x18x24)?
If so what if any optics would be needed?

I am in touch with the Sales person from this company. This is one of the lights which I have shortlisted. But he gave me a very different price for the 48inch unit.

He said its 88 x 3W Cree 1:1 ratio.
With controller, auto timer as well as a dimmer.

But the price he quoted me was USD 570.

I have asked him to send me more pics of the product, along with spectrum details. I will update you once I receive em.

I contacted Simon and put together a link for myself last night. Just ordered it today. Moonlights + LCD controller + 0-10v dimming drivers to mod for an Apex is too good of a deal to pass up for me for $255. Here is my link.

http://www.aliexpress.com/product-gs...olesalers.html

There is also a $5 off coupon for Aliexpress. (code is: 15noorder20120614)

All they are doing is adding 2-4 Meanwell drivers in on their own via a project box. I was the one who got them to start this option, as they couldn't make my fixture Apex dimmable with the Chinese drivers that come with it.

It's not really free. The light itself is $189 + $59 shipping charge +$7 aliexpress fee.

With that said, you can see how much of a bargain it still is compared to many US sellers. All they are doing is ordering bulk amounts of lights like this and reselling at a much higher price.

It looks like they are using one driver and parallel strings of leds. This would mean that you can't dim/adjust color channels individually... which kinda sucks, but isn't a deal breaker.

You would have to modify the internals of the light to connect to your Reefkeeper VDM module. The Reefkeeper will only control on/off as/is. The internal lcd controller on the light can do the sunrise/sunset.

Bhazzard. How would you do the lights on this d120.

Put green and red and uv with the whites or with the blues. 3 channels. So last one could do like 3 royal blues for moon lights

The customized orders change constantly, and they dont always keep the links that are specifically made for each order.

Looking at the company page showing all products is the best way instead, like here: http://www.aliexpress.com/store/top-...ts/317880.html

You don't have to order specifically what is there. You can customize the light any way you want, you just need to email them.

Depends if you like pure white or not. I would throw the colors on the white channel, because white is so overpowering anyway.
