Its pretty busy in that canopy. Still got to add fans. Anyways, I took my ballast off the 90 for now and Im using some old 15KXMs that Scott gave me.
Heres 1/2 the tank lit. [IMG][/IMG] These reflectors are awesome. For some old bulbs, its really bright in the tank. Lol, maybe cuz all the rocks are white huh? [IMG][/IMG] |

Russ! The tank looks phenominal!!! I can't wait to see it in person, and even more when it's fully stocked!

Thanks guys! That should be it for now as far as equipment purchase. The rest of the equipment will come from the 90 when it comes down. Basically just the Tunzes, ATO and calcium reactor. Anybody got some Chaeto I can bum in a couple of weeks? This will not be a Zeo tank and Im going all natural on this one. Anyways, there is a problem with my skimmer pump right now. It works but its not pulling the air I was hoping. The skimmer maker will be sending me a new pump here soon. I have been working with him via email and phone. He has been really great so far. Anyways, hopefully by next weekend(depending how much I spend on the roadtrip with Chris next Sturday), I should be able to get some starter fish in there.

Just Chaeto. No caulerpa. that stuff can go sexual and pollute the tank. It happened to me before when i first started the hobby. Not a pretty sight.

Its pretty clear but not quite crystal. I tested amm, nitrite and trate last night and the levels was still high. Well, for sps standards anyways. I may wait two more weeks before I add any livestock. Well just some chromis for starters. I may have to check that carbon out. Thats a really good price for sure.

Alright. Tested the parameters last night and we are cycled!! Picked up some chromis for starters and I will be observing them for the next few days. Phosphate levels are pretty high so i went ahead and fired up the GFO reactor. I bought 2 ViaAqua Polyreactors a few weeks ago and have been using one for carbon. These reactors are smaller than Phosban reactors. i really like them though. I have about 2 cups of carbon in one and 2/3 cup of GFO in the second. I just piggy backed them together so I needed just one pump. Oh these reactors has a pump included.

How much did those ViaAqua Polyreactors cost? They look pretty cool. I was thinking about doing carbon again sometime but the old bag doesn't appeal to me anymore.

I know they are small, I saw them on a nano at the show. They impressed me with the quality and overall design though.

I got them for 35 a piece. They do come with a pump. Its around 18" tall and about 3" in diameter. It could fit about 2 1/2 cups of carbon.

Paul, I think they are fine. I got them in at around 1230p yesterday and I fed them at 5pm. They were out and did eat. They didnt seem they were breathing hard by the time the lights came off. But you never know with fishes sometimes you know. Healthy one day, dead the next.

Well all six of the chromis is alive. 4 are out and abouts, 1 is hiding in the rocks and 1 just hovering near the top corner. I also tested the phosphate levels again and they are going down. I love GFO. It was at over 3ppm yesterday, and 24 hrs after I turned on the GFO reactor, its down to .05ppm. A couple of more days and it should be at acceptable range. My replacement pump for my skimmer also came in. Ill be swaping that out later on.
