Talked to Lyn from Twilight today and they are developing a couple new fixtures. The first is a modular design LED setup. The second is an updated 55 LED fixture that can be controlled via your mobile phone. I will pass on any further information he send me.

So as promised here are some pics.
First the Nova S6 I got.. The red led fixture is designed to grow plants.. Cheato algae, mangroves, etc. I plan on running it in my sump. For some reason the last picture makes it seem like its a white light. Its super red with some blue, green, and UV mixed in. Its really dam bright. You cant even look at it head on. Like looking at the Sun. I hooked it up to a standard household dimmer and was able to dim it down to about 25%-30% power before it shutoff. Might be handy for aclimating corals if you bought an a6 Last edited by livingseas; 09/18/2012 at 10:17 PM. |

Next up is the IT-120.
I played with the unit some more and got the hang of the scheduled dimmer. Basically every 1/2 hour for 24 hours you can adjust each channel up or down by 1% to 100%. As bhazard mentioned it doesnt slowly ramp up over the period it jumps from point to point.. still no big deal IMHO. I realy like them.. build quality is great. All 7 worked out of the box fine. |

I plan on opening the lights up, removing the hanging points and replacing them with bolts. Then attached to an 8020 frame so all the lights are only hung by 4 wires. Then I can lift the whole unit up and down easily.

How do you guys think the D120 compares to this Cadlights fixture based around a 50w multichip:
http://www.cadlights.com/index.php?m...roducts_id=216 I can't decide between whether or not I want to go with the D120 with customization or the Cadlights. I'm leaning towards the Cadlights because I feel like I'll never figure out a layout I'll be happy with. |

I found what a 8020 frame is, Livingseas let me know what size bolts you will be using.

That light leaves all of the spectrum to the multichip, which essentially ignores large regions of spectrum and is underpowered. D120 or the new IT2040 is better by far. The PAR readings are also even less than what I took for the d120/IT2040. Last edited by bhazard451; 09/19/2012 at 07:35 AM. |

Looking to replace a few leds with reds in my twilights and after talking to Lyn, shipping would be too great for just 6 leds $30, so does anyone know where in the states I can order some from that will work in Lyn's fixture. I have just the 90 degree beam spread 3 watt.

You might have to use their leds. I tried their leds in another fixture, and other leds in their fixture, and in both cases the leds didn't light up. |

Any ebay 3w epistar/bridgleux led will work in the d120. Check the Aqua Style website for what they look like, or buy them from there too.
If they are on stars, you'll have to remove them from the stars. It is easier to buy ones that aren't. Evergrow will sell you the leds too directly. |

The top of my canopy opens up and is hinged so I cannot use the hanging kit or anything from the top, I was kind of looking for someone who has used the sides of their canopy with tracks or something to get an idea.... anyone?

I'm going to build this today or tomorrow but I kind of want to see how the lights hang onto your clip. Thanks! |
