+1. I think it is a good fit : Maximum usage for 1 stand alone kessil unit.

No they're not as strong, but you'll get more than enough light to penetrate 13" of water and you'll have more coverage with two 160 vs a single 360 |

I have the narrow A360 and I'd say 24" is max. Here's a picture when I first set it up 14" from surface of water.

Ok at work and read through like half the thread. But I in the planning faze of a 40 breeder tank 36x18x16. Will 1 360we work or should I just go with a pair of 160we im leaning more towards lps like acro, long tentacle plates duncans a nem and chalices. Ultimately this will be my starter tank and then would like to upgrade to a shallow 80 48x24x17. If I got the 2 160we think I could get away with just adding a 360we when I go up to the shallow 80?

Yep the wide version will give you plenty of coverage good choice. (2) 160's would be nice as you will get less shadows. That's the only drawback with these lights imo.

O.k., I'm a little confused. Above, chillwill007 asked if 1 360WE would be good over his 36x18x16 and he was just told it would give him good coverage but the 2-160's would get him less shadows.
blrrobinson21 asked about using one 360we over a 24" cube and was told it would be a good fit. But when I asked about one 360WE for a 24x12x13 it was suggested for 2 160we's? Why is that? This tank would be 12" less in length, 6" less in width, and 3" less in height then chill's. I'm just a little confused. Thanks.

Ahhh, o.k. So your saying with the size of a 24" tank, the spread is too thin on the edges?
I imagine the rockscape also has to do with it as well. Being if I had 2 islands off to the sides opposed to and central piece in the center. Are the shadows that bad on the edges from one 360we? Thanks!

O.k. Thanks so much for the clarification. I do think that I would have at least one of the islands with SPS on it. The other island would just be a small to add dimension maybe with some zoa's or something. But it looks like 2 160's would be the best bet. Are the 160's linkable as well? Thanks.

I know how you feel nine9d . I keep going back and forth. I thought I was settled on a 360 but I'm going with one island with my aquascape. Now I'm back to two 160s .
Will the 160 penetrate to the bottom of a 24" tank to support LPs and softies? |

Ok cool I wasnt sure who he was answering me or blrrobinson21. So I could get a way with 1 360we on the goose neck or do u think I would have to hang it up higher? I really dont want to have to hang a light so thats why I was thinking about the kessil instead of say an ecotech or ai or reefbreeder cause I dont really want to have anything hanging

48 x 48 x 20 you think 6 kessils are sufficient for sps?
