Thanks Mark/Marc
Today everything is back to "normal" If you didnt know I did the treatment you wouldnt be able to tell. As I stated, I will wait the full week as prescribed by Dustin to do the second treatment, and then most likely stop there. Marc, I know you are concerned about the pod population being destroyed due to your Mandarins. I wish I could give you a better outlook on their survival, but it seems that they have been completely exterminated. There is a possibility that some have survived, and I am just unable to see them as of yet, I will keep you posted on what their status is in the event of a change.

Marc, I decided to post a Treatment log in the SPS forum, instead of in the review section. I think that more people may see it there.

Well it has now been a couple days since the 1st treatment. Everything still seems to be doing fine. I am still seeing increased polyp extension on ALL frags. The one that was worst is showing signs of a few more polyps coming out, and it appears that its base bleaching has stopped. I only hope that there was not too much damage done to this one before I started with interceptor.
Still not one sign of bugs anywhere, and I am starting to see a few pods here and there with a flashlight after lights out. I am awaiting my 2-Seio 1100's set to be delivered thur. I will be getting everything set for the second treatment this fri and saturday. Set to actually dose the second time ( and what I think will be the final treatment ) sat evening after I get home from work. Will give you an update, as I progress. Chris

Well I got them today, and got them in the tank and all the MJets out. Wow what a huge diference in flow. I really like them a lot.
My only complaint is I am currently having to use the suction cups ( which I am not a big fan of ) because running them Tunze style without the flow directional box, I cant seem to get them to mount with the bracket. Is there some additional procedure I have to do to get them to clasp onto the side of an AGA, they just dont have enough to clamp onto the way they want you to do it? Maybe I am missing something. Reguardless, I am VERY glad I got theses pumps. Nice gentle flow, but its a lot of water being pushed. Pics soon!

He's an alternative to the suction cups...
Buy some aquarium sealant and some good aquarium magnets, (not the mag floats). Attach the Seio's to the magnets with the sealant and let it cure for 24 hours...you should be good to go. Nick

I found a mod to the current pieces that made it possible to mount them horizontal ( tunze ) style using the bracket. All I had to do was drill 1 hole for each pump bracket. Had them the way I wanted them within 5 minutes. Now I am really happy with them. I am getting ready to do my second and final interceptor treatment tomorrow night, will keep you all updated! Chris

Second interceptor treatment almost done!
Well at exactly 1 weeks to the hour, I started the second and what I will at this point consider the last interceptor treatment. I got ready for this one same as last, including letting the 1/4 pill disolve for 12 hours. Also turing off all lights before starting.
I have not seen even 1 bug since the first treatment, but thought as a saftey precaution I would at the very least do the second. I did not notice any difference in the behavior of the inhabitants this time either. In fact the only difference was there was not one bit of extra slime created by any of the frags as it did the first time. As before the polyps on most of the frags came out during the treatment ( possibly a feeding response due to the beef flavor ) The only coral I am concerned about is the one that was the worst off to begin with. Though I have seen increased polyp extension since the first interceptor dose. I think there is still some very slow bleaching at the base. I will hope for the best, as the rest seem to be doing better than ever. Perhaps this one piece was just to stressed before I started. In about 30 minutes I will perform the water change, this time I am going to do it a bit different. I am going to do 3-10 gallon changes each night, instead of one large one. I will still run fresh carbon as prescribed after this inital W/C, and change it out after 24 hours for new. Anyhow,,, I promised pics of the new Seio pumps, just give me a day or two and I will provide. Chris

Well I finally was able to get some shots tonight of a few things ( including the new Seio pumps.
All of theses shots are from tonight ( Post 2nd interceptor treatment, which was done last saturday ) with the exception of the Watchman picture. But I thought it was a good shot and thought I would add it. Anyhow, Here is one of the 2 new Seio 1100's now running in the system. I am VERY pleased with the performance/flow theses pumps create. They are also not even close to the eyesore that all thoses MJets were. I have 2 of the 1100's now running in conjunction to the mag12 return. Lots of nice flow throughout the entire system. A simple 5 minute mounting mod made it possible to mount them as seen here. The thread I found the DIY mod on is located at: http://reefcentral.com/forums/showth...ght=seio+mount

My two fish residents
Here are the singlw two fish in this system. I plan on maybe adding 1 or 2 more at some point, but my focus has never really been on fish.
First is my Watchman, a long time resident.

Second is my Purple Firefish.
I have not had him as long, but its been close to a year or so now. If not a bit longer ( dont have my journal loaded on the computer or I would look ) You can see my slimer in the background growing like a weed. Its one of two frags made from a mini colony a fried gave me a few months ago.

Unknown Acro
Not only do I have no idea what this is, I am stil unsure of what type of coloration it is heading for. When I got it, it was much darker with semi red tips. Now ( at least in person ) it is starting to take on a pretty yellow hue. I have been having a hard time getting a decent picture of it, due to its location right under a halide. But this shot came out so-so. It is actually a faster grower than the slimer, and has recently ( after second interceptor treatment ) begun to extend its polyps during lights on. At fisrt it was only during darkness. However, the lights out extension is several times as much.

This is a blue tip Acro of some sort, I got a while ago. Unfortunatly all three of the blue tips broke off in the bag on the ride home ( I was upset to say the least ) but as you can see, in just a few short weeks they have grown back. This and the unknown above are fast becoming my favorite pieces in the system thus far.
* Note- The blue tips are much brighter in person. This one two is sitting right under a halide and the blue is getting washed out a bit in the picture.

Of course I have to post a full tank shot. I just hate when people make new additions and dont show the full picture. So I will practice what I preach.
Plus you can see how the Seio pumps look compared to the rest of the layout. ( Secretly I just want to post a few pictures ) ![]()

Here is a side shot, which lets you see that there is indeed frags in the system. Sometimes its hard to see them in a frontal full shot. It came out pretty decent so I thought I would post it as well.

A funny yet insightfull little story!
About 1 1/2 months ago my single switch autotopoff units relay box starting buzzing like mad. It had gotten to the point that I was about to purchase a new one. So loud in fact that to watch TV you had to unplug the topoff or you couldnt even hear the TV.
Needless to say I was confused why all of a sudden it would start doing this. I have not had it but a few months. I thought maybe cleaning the switch would make a difference, so last night I unplugged the water supply ( and for some reason left the relay plugged in ) which in this case was good. After cleaning the switch I started to mount it back in the sump again as I passed the switch by the skimmer putting it in place BUZZZZZZZZZZZZ. I pulled my hand back and it stopped. HMMMM!?!?!? I put the switch near the skimmer pump ( Sedra 3500 ) again BUZZZZZZ, pulled it away and it stopped again. Then it hit me. About 1 1/2 months ago I turned my skimmer around ( for some as of now unknown reason ) this put the pump right next to the switch, where as before it had been on the opposite side. Thats when I put 2 & 2 together and realized that it is indeed 4 LOL. Apparently the magnet in the Sedra was making the siwtch go nuts and was causing the buzzing. I put the skimmer back in its original position and not even the slightest buzz is to be found now. Anyone know what would have caused this. I realize it was most likely the magnet, but why? At least thats what I could come up with. Anyhow I thought it was kinda funny, and thought I would share. Chris

I just wish I knew what was happening. Is it some sort of magnetic/electrical static charge that caused it, or what? I am going to send autotopoff.com an e-mail and explain to him what happened, that way if ever anyone else complains of a buzzing relay, he can see if its what happend to me. I am just glad it wasnt broke, and is working fine again now! ![]()
