Dictyota.
It's actually kind of pretty, but if it's growing a lot it might be an indicater. (too many nutrients in the water) Just keep an eye on it. Prune it if need be. GL. |

Can anyone ID this stuff?
This stuff is all over the back corner of my tank. It is circular. I'm not sure if they are eggs or what they are. I have a mixed coral tank with LPS, SPS, and Softies in it. Just one coral beauty.

@Jivewalker that Dictyota is really cool looking. Is it naturally blue or is it because of your lights?

Wondering if anyone can tell me what these are
since moving all my fish to their new larger tank, my 38g nano has millions of these critters in it. I'd like to feed them to my other tank if it would be good

Munnid isopods. You can feed them to the other tank if you'd like, but they are harmless and an excellent part of the clean up crew.

what kind of worm this can be? He is nonstop swimming in that cup.
I got him yesterday during night, swimming on top of the water. So I just got ID Phyllodocidae As I have many worms in my DSB and this one seems to be their predator, he will be probably staying out of my tank. Last edited by sh0ck; 11/05/2013 at 04:04 PM. |

This is the clearest picture I have, today. Tomorrow I will take a better one, to help with the ID.
Ideas, I know an urchin, was looking for a classification. Thanks! Edit: Took a few more pictures.

I've found something this week that's living in the holes in the rock right underneath my paly's. It's small enough that I can't get a clear picture. Not sure if it's multiple worms of some sort or if it's something with tentacles as I've seen multiples sticking out from different holes at the same time all in a small proximity.
Each tentacle or worm is about the thickness of a piece of thread and I've seen them stick out up to about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. They are banded, alternating black and white or a dark red and white, I can't tell for sure as they are so thin. If I look real close I can see what looks like very fine bristles running down the sides, but I can't tell if it goes all the way or just near the end. When they do stick out, they move about somewhat snakelike. I do have bristle worms in other places, but they do look quite different. Like I said, I can't tell for sure if they are worms or some sort of tentacles. Is there any micro 'octopus' like critters that could have hitchhiked, or are they more likely some sort of worm? |

Micro brittle stars. Harmless detrivores.
