So provided you don't get a lemon, how long is the expected real world lifespan of these lights, if anyone knows?

Looking to get a Kessil for my Nuvo Lagoon 25G. Weighting the benefit of the A160WE or the A360WE, since the area of the tank is realistically only 24" x 15" x 12".

It seems as it transitions from each set point the lights turn off and on again
Kessil controller 2 x A360We

Anyone else have this problem?
Can you post a photo of your lighting graph on the controller?

As for this, I'm not sure about the controller. But my 360 flashes all night long. About half a second each time. Once every, I dunno, half hour maybe? I've never been able to determine why...

Are both of you using the Kessil Spectral controller? I run mine via a ReefAngel and have no issues.

New to the led game, but think I'm going kessil. Setting up a 29 gallon at the moment. Dimensions are 30x13x18. I'm not sure the direction of the tank but probably going to keep a few acros. What's best lighting? 1 a360we, 2 a160we's or even thought about 2 a360we?

Does anyone else clean their Kessil's? I bought three used Kessils. Two of them would shut off after 15 minutes. Use a compressor and blow the dust out of the cooling fins inside the unit. Mine were overheating. Look inside it, if dusty then clean it.

A single A360 wont be enough due to the length of the tank; is the tank 30x13x18 (LxWxH) or 30x18x13 (LxWxH)? If the width is only 13", an "N" series light is probably a better choice than a "W" series. If you can afford two A360 (W or N based on whatever you need), it will give you the most flexibility but you might be able to get away with a pair of A160s; this would give you roughly the output of a single A360 but lets you separate the lights for better coverage left to right with possibly enough par in the center of the tank up higher for some SPS. I dont have any hands on experience with the A160s so I dont know their real world PAR performance.

I blow mine out occasionally. I'm always surprised how much dust builds up. The only problem is that dust collects on the inside of the splash lens when I do it. I called Kessil about it and they made a notation on my warranty so could open it up and not void it.

Thanks for the reply, yes that's LxWxH. Only 13" wide, 2 A360WEs or the N is not out of the question. That was my original thinking, just don't want to go overkill on leds when I don't need to. Just want to be able to throw anything in there without worry at least when it comes to light.

I have a spectral controller running my a160 tuna sun over my planted tank and no flashing issues. I wonder if it's a 360 issue

Well I joined the club. Picked up a H380 for my fuge. I was really surprised at how light the unit was. For some reason I was expecting it to be hard and heavy. Objectively, it feels a bit China.

By the way, does anyone have PAR readings @ 18" for the 360 N version?

I'm running a single Kessil A360w over a IM 50 Lagoon 30x20x16. I have LPS, Bubble tip Anemones and softies. The Kessil lights the tank nicely and I haven't had any issues growing the listed corals, but I think I would have been better off with two A160's

If your lamp is flashing and its less than 2 yrs old, Kessil will replace. Same for controller.

They are great with returns.

Yeah? That sounds promising. My unit is less than 2 years old. I'll be damned if I have a receipt anywhere though. Is there a serial number or something on it to date it? Will that work?

I needed no receipt. They didnt even want the defective unit back. In my case, the fan on one stopped working and it would shut itself off after about 10 minutes running. They will ask for the serial number so they can look up when it was manufactured. They cannot tell when it sold at retail tho..thats why they ask for a receipt. But if the lamp isnt ancient, say manufactured over 3 yrs ago.. I'm fairly certain you will have no problem with a return. You will have to pay postage on the replacement.

They want to sell folks more units .. and backing up what they sold previously is a great way to do that.

Edit and warning: Australia may be different. They tried to tell me because I lived in Canada, my warranty was only one year. When I asked them why..they bumped me up to some supervisor to answer. He said it was because Europe and other countries have a different electrical grid...but when I pointed out the US/Canada grid is entirely intertwined and the same, I got my replacement. I dont think that will work for Australia. Four weeks old..you should have no problems in any case.
