So provided you don't get a lemon, how long is the expected real world lifespan of these lights, if anyone knows?

Is there any hint of Kessil coming out with an updated version of the a360 with controllability? Its been a while.

Looking to get a Kessil for my Nuvo Lagoon 25G. Weighting the benefit of the A160WE or the A360WE, since the area of the tank is realistically only 24" x 15" x 12".

Are both of you using the Kessil Spectral controller? I run mine via a ReefAngel and have no issues.

New to the led game, but think I'm going kessil. Setting up a 29 gallon at the moment. Dimensions are 30x13x18. I'm not sure the direction of the tank but probably going to keep a few acros. What's best lighting? 1 a360we, 2 a160we's or even thought about 2 a360we?

Does anyone else clean their Kessil's? I bought three used Kessils. Two of them would shut off after 15 minutes. Use a compressor and blow the dust out of the cooling fins inside the unit. Mine were overheating. Look inside it, if dusty then clean it.

I have a spectral controller running my a160 tuna sun over my planted tank and no flashing issues. I wonder if it's a 360 issue

Well I joined the club. Picked up a H380 for my fuge. I was really surprised at how light the unit was. For some reason I was expecting it to be hard and heavy. Objectively, it feels a bit China.
By the way, does anyone have PAR readings @ 18" for the 360 N version? |

If your lamp is flashing and its less than 2 yrs old, Kessil will replace. Same for controller.
They are great with returns. |

I needed no receipt. They didnt even want the defective unit back. In my case, the fan on one stopped working and it would shut itself off after about 10 minutes running. They will ask for the serial number so they can look up when it was manufactured. They cannot tell when it sold at retail tho..thats why they ask for a receipt. But if the lamp isnt ancient, say manufactured over 3 yrs ago.. I'm fairly certain you will have no problem with a return. You will have to pay postage on the replacement.
They want to sell folks more units .. and backing up what they sold previously is a great way to do that. Edit and warning: Australia may be different. They tried to tell me because I lived in Canada, my warranty was only one year. When I asked them why..they bumped me up to some supervisor to answer. He said it was because Europe and other countries have a different electrical grid...but when I pointed out the US/Canada grid is entirely intertwined and the same, I got my replacement. I dont think that will work for Australia. Four weeks old..you should have no problems in any case. Last edited by ComforablyNumb; 11/16/2017 at 01:43 AM. |
