Managed to take a picture of one of the "firm jelly globs" I wrote about in my last post here. It's an egg case of some sort and it looks like one of the eggs hatched. The critter still inside the glob.

The "glob" measures less than an 1/8 of an inch across.

As I wrote last night there are some other odd things swimming around like corkscrews. My royal gramma caught and ate one this morning.

Those are strombus snail eggs (the little striped conch looking ones you mentioned)
On vermetids I have heard of people just super gluing them at the tip or breaking off the tubes. Mine have never gotten out of hand so that is just second-hand tips. |

No idea if he is reef safe because I don't know what he is but wow is he beautiful! If he turns out not to be reef safe I am sure lots of people might want him for a fowlr or something. Neat crab! If you can get a look at the tips of his claws it will give a hint. If they are sharp/dark they are usually not reef safe.

Another something in the same tank. A worm that looks and moves like a centipede... It has "feelers" on its head end

Can't seem to figure out what this thing is. It's not very active... It's been on that shell for a couple days.

I looked up tunicate and I don't think that is it... Sorry the picture is crappy, took it on my phone. It seems to have a long soft body that is spiraling around itself and I noticed yesterday a web like substance that seems to be coming from its mouth. It doesn't have a shell and its face is dark with two antenna. Hope that gives a better idea. Its in the back corner of my tank that doesn't get much action, and its been on top the same shell since I noticed it.

That's padina sp. ...a macro algae. It can become a nuisance so you'll want to keep it trimmed back.

I know it's sounds weird asking, but what exactly do you do with pests once you catch them? How do you get rid of them? I've never had a saltwater tank, in the process with my first one now, thanks.

That looks like a ball anemone. If I remember correctly they are not actually anemones but a coralimorph. Purists will say they are pests but in my opinion they are much less invasive and pose less of a threat than aiptasia and majano anemones. Some of them fluoresce under actinic leds, so that's not too bad. The ones I've had in my tank tend to grow in the shadow of other corals or in dark crevasses of the tank and never became an issue. If you don't like it, remove it. Otherwise leave it be. If my ID turns out to be wrong, please disregard for now but save the description for the future.

Bleach work wonders on them. Then placing them into a ziplock bag and in the trash would be a good place too. Sealed so there i no real chance of getting out.
