The prototype pulled over 40. He cut it back a little as I think for the size it was bit much. I think. Yea he did a nice job getting good performance out of this pump. I agree.

Well Warner Marine has made a few changes to the K2 skimmer that seems to be finally hitting the retailers more and more as they are finally getting more of them made and shipped out.
The only big changes from the prototype I had to the final production skimmer are the neck is now a threaded neck and the sizes are all standard now that they are made in the US. After many skimmers and a few cones I can say this for the Warner Marine k2. It has the least turbulence of any skimmer I have tested and reviewed. I was dang near tar'd and feathered for saying this when I first reviewed the skimmer. But with 3 more cone skimmers behind me and a couple more cylinder skimmers as well. I feel that Warner Marine has done a fine job with this skimmer. Now the only thing that would keep me from not buy this skimmer over others is the Rotational issue with the stock sicce volute cover. I know Jon Warner is working on resolving this as well. The skimmer pulls a good amount of air for a pinwheel sicce. about 950 to 1000 lph. Here are a couple shots and video of the skimmer right after putting it in. The skimmer was only in the water about 2 minutes before the pics.

Mojo, since I have had my K2 for about a week now, I can agree 100% about the lack of turbulence, this thing is a bubble elevator as far as I can see. When the bubbles exit the VBT, they go UP, STRAIGHT UP!

Yea, I am glad someone else has one now and can agree. Its kinda cool to look in there and look at the wall where the bubbles rise.becuase you can see the layer where it starts between the bubble ring and the body of bubbles. You dont get the turbulence like the old school skimmers that is for sure. I am not knocking the old school skimmers. this is just a different breed.

I like how small the bubbles are. and no bubbles in the sump from the skimmer.

Ya, as far as the cup... I don't dare clean it while the wife is home. Catch a lot of grief for that.

if it does start backwards it doesnt have the big change in performance.
that was another pump i did but I am using the WM reducer on the k2. Pulling about 38 scfh with red demon and my volute. The volute is 4" diameter and is the same as a ATB mini airstar.

its a bit deeper than that. but its 4" pvc. its an exact copy of a mini airstar. After hard drive crash I no longer have the dimensions. I would have to go remeasure it.
