Outside the 6 month plus wait on the Mandarin I was thinking something like this for an introduction order:
goby/shrimp
clowns
blue jaw if we get one
wrasse
mandarin
Anthias

Spacing would be about 4 weeks apart as we would drop one in and setup quarantine for the next and should follow that schedule unless something pops up during quarantine that takes longer.

Thank You again all
I think that is a good plan. Anthias do not require a mature tank, BUT they must be fed multiple times per day. I love Blue Spotted Jawfish, but if you go this route, keep your tank on the cooler side (76-77 F). Remember they are collected in Mexico.

Todd- It is a 60Lx19Wx20H, 100 gallon with a coast-to-coast overflow. Ans yes I am leery of the trigger, that's why I say I will probably wait until I get where I could start another tank, and make it a fish only.

Tank - 28 gallon JBJ NanoCube CF Quad, 1.025, 1" sand bed, 25# live rock, 77/78 degrees, Eshopps PSK75-H HOB skimmer. Currently cycling.

Future plans - a few easy corals (this is mostly a FOWLR tank with splashes of color) and adding a refugium to the existing media basket.

Stocking list?, pair of false percula clownfish & yellow watchman goby are the only ones on my list right now, any suggestions?

Now what about CUC?, how many & what kind would you suggest?

Red Sea Fish such as the purple tang seem to be difficult to obtain at the moment. In the longer run, Naso tangs require longer tanks as they get large and like to swim. So, I would advise against it in your tank. There are, however many tangs that would work. See the sticky in the fish forum about recommended tank sizes for tangs: http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1946079

Those fish would like do well but since the clowns, once sexually mature will take over that tank, it somewhat precludes other fish that might be intimidated. If you absolutely have to have clowns, your options are somewhat limited.

Yes the clowns are a have to, I have two small grand daughters.

Any visually interesting CUC suggestions that would be safe with my setup?

Well, I have this strange personal bias. I have pistol shrimp (e.g. alpheus soror) and various cleaner shrimp as part of my cleanup crew. They will work well for uneaten food. (This is a more expensive solution than the traditional one of micro hermits and snails) I also like fighting conch (in your case, just one).

If the baby blue tang is a Hepatus tang, keep in mind it will grow to well over a foot rather quickly. 3 firefish will normally become one firefish. Sorry for presenting bad news.

Would suggest 1 firefish -- unless you get a mated pair they don't end up liking each other.

No tang what so ever.

EDIT -- looks like Steve beat me too it.

hahaha sounds good...

i have 2 red firefish and a purple one..

they seem to get along well i just need another purple so they all pair up

but i think the other two are mates..they're always hiding..bought them from the same batch tank

Well, with four firefish you may be really lucky but in the longer run, you are most likely to end up with only two or possibly one. Firefish can tolerate each other for a while but they really don't like each other unless they are a bonded pair. Coming from the same "batch" does not insure that.

And I totally endorse Todd's "no tang" advice. Even if he was slow on the scene (I interrupted a my good nap for that)!

additions

Hi all, I need a hand... current tank: 1 1/2 yr old 55g. Breaking down the 55 and upsizing to a 4ft 90g in 2 weeks. !!! Cant wait!!!

Fish now: 1 yellowtailed blue damsel; 3 green chromis; 1 eyelash blenny and 1 carpenters fairy wrasse. Corals (SPS dominated), inverts, live rock and live sand.

Wanting to add a few new things as I set up the 90 and as I'm undecided on all, I thought I'd ask for some opinions.
A tang (sailfin, scopas, tomini, kole or chevron)
A pair of clowns ( I like them all)
And a couple more wrasses
Oh and maybe a tigertail cuc to keep the sand clean

Can/should I? If yes, which ones? Any unlisted suggestions? Any help would be appreciated.

A tang (sailfin, scopas, tomini, kole or chevron) A chevron would be possible but your tank size is marginal for this fish, a Tomini would be better, definitely not a sailfin
A pair of clowns ( I like them all)
And a couple more wrasses You could pair up your carpenter's flasher wrasse with one or even two females
Oh and maybe a tigertail cuc to keep the sand clean

Thanks for all the replies.

Here are my initial 5:
CUC
Foxface Rabbitt
2-Clowns- True Percs
Orchid Dottyback
Lawnmower Blenny

Next im thinking a pair of Flasher Wrasses. Just read in your post above you can even have 3. If so how would you introduce them? Or even know the sex?

Thanks,

Well flasher wrasses are pretty easily sexed (you will be able to do so because the males are much more colorful) but getting females is more difficult because LFS and importers generally bring in males due to their coloration. You can introduce all at once, a male first, followed by one of more females. But if your five went in at once, did you quarantine them?

No i don't even have water in the tank yet just trying to make my list ahead of time to make sure there are as few complications as possible. I plan on using quarantine for everything. Going to be using my wet bar. so its good and bad

Well, if no fish in the tank yet, I would add the algae eaters last.

Sixlines can be aggressive, but I don't see a bioload issue. The clarkii clown can also be aggressive but more so if paired up.

The clarkii is pretty chill, him and the blenni hang out and swim around together. It is pretty funny to watch.

I read that the sixlines can be aggressive, however it was usually towards similar fish, and more so if they did not have lots of caves and pockets to swim in and out of. I have quite a few caves and holes that one could swim in and out of so I was hopping that would keep him calm. And that he would be active and interesting to watch.
