Unit I linked. Does not come in 90. Not enough room. It was posted I think over 30 inches. 60 better than 90

Have just ordered mine, 120w,the extra grunt would probably be nice, although the extra $100 per fitting makes me wonder. I am not as deep as you. Cheers

Can someone explain beam angle versus optics.
The light will be on 4x2x2. I've been in touch with twilight and I'm about ready to order but i need to know what is best for my tank. I'm going to order a mix of royal blue, blue and a few violet. I need help with the white. what temp should I go with. I would like the light to be 14k-20k. is 2:1 the way to go or 1:1? I don't think i'll go with red or green. do you think the red and green will make a difference? I would rather not sacrifice blue or white, your thoughts?

2:1 should be fine. I prefer multiple colors of whites to enhance the spectrum. Green is not really needed, and a few reds and violets enhance color. Last edited by bhazard451; 07/18/2012 at 09:46 AM. |

I also picked up a new Apollo SolarBlast fixture last night and posted a review in the other thread. Until these companies make something Apex compatible, and with the same led bin quality, I think its the best choice available for Apex users right now.

Great thanks for the info, I'm in contact with Twilight for 2 lights. I'm ready to buy I just need to work out the details of the leds I want.
I'll let you know the outcome when i make my decision.

Which distributer allows you to build these in this fashion, and where do you get the schematic from which to build it? Is it on their site along with the different LEDs they carry (color etc.). Being able to customize to this degree is wonderful providing the cost does not go up exponentially
![]() Love to see your link that you purchased it from cmantis. Anyone have the link on where to build these with the shcematic cmantis used?

They were purchased from Evergrow. The DIY option I believe is like $15. A few weeks back they were running a free DIY special. I have the list of LEDs they offer but its at home. The schematic I just did on MS paint. Feel free to use it. I just emailed it to them and they built it exactly.

I'm not sure of the exact specs of the d120 driver, but you would need: 2 PWM dimming drivers around 80-100 volts each (if they are wired in a series connection) 600-630mah ~60watts each driver I bought the custom drivers off aliexpress too. It's a little bit of a pain, but it is possible. |

Eshine makes some nice looking lights, but they are expensive, and their warranty is suspect. One person here reported having problems trying to get a broken controller replaced. He was just given the run around for awhile. |

![]() Where did you get a list of all the colors they offer? Why order from twilight vs. evergrow vs. another company? I know I want customizability, aluminum case (not iron), 90 optics, and a broader spectrum somewhat like you listed (many colors for pop in corals and fish). I see one plus with evergrow is their warranty you posted for 1st year coverage here in the US. Twilight has programmable controller I believe (but that may be just one more thing to worry about breaking down with no US support)? Sorry for rant, but attempting to synthesis this info.

The ones that I ordered are for my 40 breeders. I am setting up two with another 40 breeder as the sump. The led's themselves are 90 degree but I got 90 degree optics anyways.

The twilight one has a controller built into it, but no one has received one yet to test. All of our orders are recent. Seems like a great option too. Gehl and Greensun are also good companies. I'm sure there are more. |

How about this evergrow r4? Or would the standard pendant be better?
