I wish they'd either fix or discontinue Tapatalk.

To answer, probably not. Did it come in maybe a green coral? They typically look like what they eat.

It never opened up. When main lights on, the tip will have some bright green color. When lights off or touched the green color will fade away.

Hope these are OK to remain as they're cool!

Hard to see from the photo but the top one is the colour it appears and disappears deep in the rock with no visible parts, the bottom one is much more pink in colour and disappears into its own tubey thing...

Both are harmless feather dusters. No worries.

And this, is an anemone? Maybe? My guess is it is a non-photosynthetic anemone.

Original photo from start of tank.

Is this a bristle worm?

It's bright red with white spikes and gets blueish on the other part I have seen

Sushi Girl,

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Yes, I can only assume that this nudi hitchhiked last week when I added a cluster of new green zoas. I'll remove it immediately.

You'll want to inspect the zoa colony closely to look for more nudis and egg sacs.

This white thing appeared on the back side of the top of my rock. It is about the size of a golf ball and the tentacles or hairs are about one inch when fully extended. They flow in the current.

What is it???

I have lots of these attached to the glass. Is it a type of hydroid and should I do anything about them?

It's an Aiptasia, a type of anemone that will reach plague proportions if you dOnt get rid of them. You have to remove the entire organism, it can regenerate from small pieces of tissue. I like to use joe's juice. Coating them with kalk paste works just as well. You can try scraping them off the glass while you siphon.

I have a couple of big ones on the most recent rock I added but these teeny ones were there way before I added it and none of my other rock had any but I guess they must have been hiding! I'm getting a peppermint shrimp at the weekend as I really like the look of them anyway so fingers crossed he'll deal with the problem
