i got mine through a local vendor, exoticreefcreations.com who is also a sponsor on the other major reefing forum. there was a group buy through my local forum and i grabbed a few to check out the new upgrade. here's some info i got from ERC on them that i think is safe to share since it doesn't have pricing and seems like the typical evergrow ads they have out complete with misspellings and all, haha. ERC is awesome to work with and they have a 3-year warranty. they will changing up their website soon to allow for ordering through the site and do all your free customizations online which i think is going to be pretty neat.

and in white i think looks pretty awesome:

He's spent 5yrs in the hell-hole and has a tough time these days actually meeting people. One thing I do have to to really say is he knows his stuff. Fixed quite a few 120w units after warranty was up. I'm not making any money from him by putting his name out there. But just giving credit to a man who has spent his 10yr career in the military overseas. We have a meeting once a month for PTSD.....and that man has been through a lot. Because i'm still active duty I can relate to an extent. He is very open to questions if you have them when it comes to his web page and diy sales. I'm just looking out for the Lil guy that's getting shafted by uncle Sam I guess....if you have a warranty issue he'll try and fix it personally before going to the manufacturer. I guess I just support a veteran more than I would anyone else at this point. Plus he can get you the units faster instead of making a bulk order while still being cheaper.

Thanks Delta! Since you know him, maybe you could pass along to Martin that a little more personal info on his website would be good. Like I said, looking at the site, there is limited info regarding where he is located, etc. I am sure he is on a limited budget but a little good marketing goes a long way. He also doesnt have anything listed in his return policy and putting something there may increase buyers confidence. Last thing is that he says delivery is from 2 to 12 weeks. Maybe he could periodically post updates letting folks know what average ship time is this time of year, etc.

Is there any way to contact him directy other than filling out the form on his website?

Again, thank you for the info and I will check him out.

bend some conduit and secure to your stand for a clean modern look. there's a bunch of DIYs out there.

If you want his number shoot me a pm and i'll give it to you. But if you also wanna check out his site that he's working on its at http://bubbasguppies.webs.com/

I am a complete noob when it comes to lighting and I'm having an issue with one of my Evergrow D120 Led modules.

My blue channel is completely not working even though the power looks to on. I noticed it looked a lot bluer than my other D120 module today so I went to adjust the dimmer and the blue leds immediately shut off and won't turn back on.

I emailed Evergrow but I'm not sure how great of a response I'll get. Anyone got any steps I need to take? Again, I'm a completely rookie with lighting and would appreciate any advice

is the power cord for that driver/channel plugged in fully/completely? sounds like it is loose. either that or the driver has failed. if the latter, who did you buy from? speak to them. problems are resolved immediately when i've gotten fixtures from ERC(exoticreefcreations) and RB(reefbreeders).

yeah I doubled checked the power cord, it's connected in fully and the "power button" is illuminated.

I ordered directly from Evergrow, I think they have a warranty on their products so I'll wait to see what they say.

Just wanted to see if this has happened to anyone or if I was missing something stupid

hi all
this is a great thread
last year i built 3 100w+ cob hybrid led cannons just Blue and white http://www.ebay.com/itm/220926012078...84.m1423.l2649
well 2 of them have to be sent back for repairs to the chip not all of the leds are lighting. So I started looking to see what i could add to the tank for lighting for a bit more pop. The seller i got my first chips from has violets uv and blues but is missing the yellow and green (i was looking at the 20w ones). So after more thought i think adding those to my other chips would be over kill.

So with that in mind i may just scrap that whole setup and go with these
http://www.ebay.com/itm/310831335583...84.m1423.l2649
i would like to get as close or better then the radion

this is on a 155 bow front

evergrow makes those fixtures in various sizes with or without the contoller, I and A series, respectively. they are great for cube tanks. a couple members from my reef club have those over 93 cubes that we got in our local group buy but the d2040 and IT series lights are still much more popular overall.

Can anyone post a link to the best eBay fixture? I'm looking at the units that are 400 for 3 units that are 160watt and full spectrum or the dimmable d120 fixture

IMO, both have way too many white LEDs. I would go with a 3:1 ratio at least, but you can adjust the color to suit your taste. All in all, that's a pretty good price if shipped from the US.

I was about to say the same but then I saw the $65.00 international shipping...

+1 on the 'too much white' comment.

Reefbreeds can provide extra LEDs, optics, and drivers.

There are a bunch of eBay suppliers lilman that have singles,5,10,20,50ct led sales. Its where I get my replacements. I have mainly 10,000k LEDs on my 120w units but am switching out some for 6500k whites and adding a few more 405-420nm UV

I'm a new member and have been hanging out trying to learn as much as possible . I have read a ton of stuff on Chinese LED lights and have pretty much decided on the Malibu S300 for my 90 gal. tank. I have read all the post on LED layout and have a few questions.

Would this work for the led layout for the fixture? Looking forward for any and all input before ordering light. good or bad !!!

Thanks

+1 on that! The last few weeks I have talked to both reefbreeders and exotic reef creations and their support, knowledge and prompt replies were excellent. Plus, they BOTH post the exact layouts of their builds so you know exactly what you are getting. Also, both do customization and seem much more thorough then any of the china/ebay direct buys.

Ordered 2 x IT2080s today and cannot wait to get them!
