Nice work. Where did you get your new LEDs from?

Ok everyone, I'm looking for some ideas on how to hang my 3 nova a4's. The studs above my tank don't line up evenly with the top of my tank. It has 2 braces across the top making each section 24x24 but they aren't directly under the stud

I used the Rubbermaid Twin Track shelving kit that you can find at Home Depot.

I cut the upright to a manageable size. Use one bracket per light.

The anchors that come with the hardware kit for these hold up to 30 lbs each. Each bracket can hold an A4 no problem on drywall. I have a write up on this way back in the thread.

Also I'm looking for some light timing ideas.
I have 3 nova a4's coming with 24 blue and 24 white. The thing with the nova series is you can run them in a series so only one plug goes into socket. I'm debating on following options
1) one fixture on then next then last. Sort of like sunrise etc
2) turn 2blues with 1 white then rest on later
3) 2 whites and 1 blue then rest later
4) all blue then whites
5) all whites on then blue
6) any other options
Corey

Make sure you specifically ask for the option to have them run in a series. I forgot to verify that part of my order and I didn't realize it until I recieved the lights. I asked hendy about it and he said it was to late and that needed to be added during the build. So I am stuck trying to find the plug ends on my own and haven't had any luck.

Anyone know where I can get he a4 screw-in type plug end so I can make my own cords?

I am making pvc light hangers that go on top of the tank. I have a link from another forum if interested.

My Twilight fixture shipped today too. This one will go over my other tank for now, as I don't need an Apex to control it.

I have just finished setting up a 40 Breeder and need to upgrade my lighting. I currently only have 4 24w t5 over it. I was considering going with one of these fixtures. My question is should I go with optics or not considering the size of the tank and the fact I'm only using one? If anyone has a link for a good choice on that aliexpress everyone seems to be using I would appreciate it. Im looking for something dimmable with good color. Thanks in advance.

Look up some of my posts on this if you are interested. I have 40g breeders. One should be fine with no optics or 90 optics (led's are already 90).

Not all leds have a 90 degree angle, just the ones that Evergrow used for you. A Cree XT-E would have around a 135 degree angle, and a Bridgelux not too much less than that without optics/lens and just the emitter.

could someone please explain how the series power plugs work on the Nova fixtures? im not sure i understand it fully. in my mind i understand it as you can have 2 power cords run all units vs 2 cords for each unit? is this right thanks.

That ebay light has a good ratio of leds, but it isn't dimmable, and is more expensive than it should be.

It is basically this:

Correct. They plug into each other then just one plug into wall socket

+1 on pvc, haha, i feel like i am the king of the pvc lighting stand build. I have three of them going right now. I like it as i can mod it super easy and it is dirt cheap to build one up really quick. made this one for my PAR38 lights...

so if you ran them in a series like that and used an apex you would only be able to have 2 controls right??? but if you choose not to run in a series and used all 4 plugs on the apex i could do somewhat of a sunset/sunrise (at least from left to right on the tank) right???

None of these lights work with the dimming module of an Apex. The fixture from Twilight group in this thread has a built in controller that can do it.
