Evil, if your planning on doing a meshmod on the odyssea pump that comes with the ps75, you will more than likely be able to fit at most 1 layer and you WILL have start up probs. Here's how there pumps go. The wp500, one layer and your ok, the wp700 2 layers ok, three start up probs and the wp1000, 3 layers, starts up every time. But good luck! Its just that the small pumps aren't really geared for mods.

as long as you space the zips evenly and cut it thin and symmetrical you should do fine.

Yea, one layer could work, but you may have start up issues. For a pump that small its not going to make a huge difference but will help out a bit. You may want to use fishing string to be lighter, that could help with startup.

Well there ya go man, fishing line works! I think the zip ties weigh it down to much on the smaller pumps. Ziac, your usin the pf4 right, and could you tell a big difference when you added the mesh?

Do you think a recirc 200 is enough for a 240? I'm using one now to help cure my live rock and have doubts. I've tried a couple mods but not yet the mesh.

Jeff, haven't heard of that but i know Chevman has it hangin on his sump. It should work fine, but kind of defeats the purpose of a fuge : ) It'll just pull out the pods and skim them, which isn't what you want.

Just FYI for those of you doing the mod, i used 3 layers of enkamat 4 on a genX 2400. I used fishing line and wove it in between and then tied it off. About 4 month later (1 week ago) it came undone and i found the skimmer stopped working.
Point is, tie it REALLY tight and use some type of pliers to really hold it down. I do agree that the small zip ties weigh it down and im still going to use fishing line...

On the 90 degree elbow, would it help to angle it to get a nice vortex going in the chamber ?
