The rack looks good. I like the idea of having it adjustable/movable on a magnet.

I hope that epoxy is reef safe.

I guess I'll find out. I'll have to watch my livestock like a hawk for the first few days. The package has no safety warnings.

Well I ordered a couple of things that should be here on Fri. A paintball tank CO2 regulator that will be perfect for the ViaAqua reactor and another Mini-jet 606 for my Nano Remora. I decided to try it because with 6 gallons I won't need but a trickle through the skimmer.

Bought this flake food and distilled water today. I let my testing test tubes sit in some of our well water and didn't realize the hard water would calcify on the glass. I hope this distilled water will take it off.

Has anybody dewormed their fish? I mean internal roundworms and flatworms? How did you do it?

I read something that said stringy white feces are a sign of worms and that's what my black mollies have.

Anybody know if those new Koralias that run off their wavemaker, can be used on other wavemaking timers? I would like to run one on my RK1.

These two things won't be here til Monday.

I also ordered some DI water from Culligan. Ten gallons.

I'll use this three-sided overflow in place of a bulkhead screen for my closed loop intake. A lot of anemones have perished on bulkhead screens. I'll just turn it upside down and put it over a bulkhead on a bottom corner.

This is how I made my anemone proof closed loop intake. I used my wire clippers and cut out a section of gutter guard from the roll. I clipped the gg every third square to make it bend easier. I formed the gg around the slotted overflow and used cable ties to hold it in place. I will put the overflow on the bottom of the tank as described in the post above. If an anemone gets caught in it I can clip out the gutter guard to remove the nem.

My ammonia monitor says safe. My ammonia spike must have gone down. I will do some testing after supper. I have a fish with a cloudy eye. Gonna put some Stress Coat in the tank.

Ammonia spike has subsided and nitrite has started.

pH = 7.8

NO2- = 0.50 ppm

NH4+ = 0 ppm

I decided to breakup some of my liverock into smaller pieces since two pieces are too much for the tank now that I must make room for the frag rack. So one and a half pieces it is.

First I drilled pilot holes into the rock in a line. Then a 7/16" drilling into the pilot holes. (You can see them in the first picture.) A hammer and chisel broke up the rock in two and even gave me rubble rock. My diy Nano Rock.

I used cable ties and thin shipping pads to pad this Mini-jet 606. I just cut out a strip of padding and threaded two ties together since one couldn't wrap around by itself and zipped on a pad that I wrapped around the powerhead. This thing shouldn't rattle around in one of the back chambers of the NC6.

But you covered the intake?

also, I have 2 1200's resting on top one another in a tank, and they don't make the slightest rattle... not sure you have too much to worry about with that mini jet. I'd remove that stuff.

Not one of my better ideas!

I could cut out a square to expose the intake. The return pump in there now is a mini jet and is silent. Now I think the heater that was in the same back chamber was causing the rattling. The foam stinks like foul plastic and I don't want toxic waste in the tank. Thanks PSam, I will take it off.

Here's my paintball tank regulator. It will look cute next to a viaaqua calc reactor. Now I just need a bubble counter thingy.

CO2, calc reactor, this is serious! Potential overkill... but I'm not knocking you - I have just as much fun messing around with the gear as I do playing with the coral.

That being said, I like to set up tank and then mod onto it a bit once it is up and running... It means I get the best of both worlds only with a few more headaches along the way.

Just found out don't need bubble counter. ViaAqua Acro Cal reactor has one built-in.

Hehehe....Rosseau, look at it this way, won't have to dose calc & alk.

I think dissolved aragonite also provides some strontium and magnesium.

The eye cleared up. It still has a half dozen white dots on it. I think it was injured in the lfs during netting.

I think it's either I can't focus close up on the fish, or the fish moves too fast. I would post a sample pic, but I'd be too embarrassed.

Aquarium photography is pretty tough... I'm not finding it easy and I understand well how a camera works.

I'm posting a few sub-par photos... perhaps I should go for quality over quantity right now?

Here comes more from the "quantity" department.
Here's a pic. Ignore the fake coral in the background.

Well I know two things I need for starters. One, the glass needs cleaning. And two, I need to set up my tripod.
