That stinks. Mine came in with a forklift hole through the shield. The rest was fine. ATI was great. BRL was going to make me ship the shield back. I called up ATI and they said that wasn't nessasary and sent me out a new one.

Good to hear. I plan on calling as soon as they open up on the west coast. Would be great if they told me to keep this one and sent me a new one. 😚 I doubt it will happen in this case though.

I'm sure someone would be happy to buy it for cheap and face the ding away. I'm not one.

Would a 24" model work well on an SPS (Acro) 40g breeder (36")?

LED surrounds/reflectors have burnt out....LED's are still going strong but not exactly great.

Not sure how long its been like this, first time ive taken the light down in 12 months to replace the globes.

Not sure if its worth contacting ATi to see if they can sent out some more surrounds

Looks like they got too hot. Are your fans working? I bet ATI would provide replacements, I know the entire LED bar is swappable.

Yeah that's crazy! Glad it didn't start a fire, seeing the black on there is definitely concerning. I hope ATI can make things right, these fixtures are not cheap and we pay that premium for things like this not to happen. I understand the occasional malfunction but seeing stuff turn black like it's burning is unacceptable.

Thumbs up

Hi Joe,

You've inspired me for my settings on my ATI Hybrid module (8x80 watt and 4x75 watt led). Based on the article of Big E, this is my current configuration
- Blue plus
- Coral plus
- Blue plus
- Aquablue special
led
- Aquablue special
- Blue plus
- Coral plus
- Blue plus

I also experienced some burning so i putt down the leds to 20%. What is at this moment the programming that you are using and what are the results?

Hope to hear from you

Kind regards,

Vincent

So, makes me think that too much duration is bad and that is probably more important than intensity once you have the basic intensity covered and obviously all you need for that is 4 T5 bulbs. In your case I don't think the 2 spikes is a problem so long as the total time the lights are on is less than 10 hours since you are high pretty much all the time if you spike LED first then T5 second and spike LED third.

Planning to get either the ATI or Pacific Sun's T5/LED

Can anyone confirm if powermodule T5 is dimmable and are bulbs included.

Is the shimmer the same or close to MH.

ATI Powermodule Hybrid Club

Shimmer is nothing like a MH but that's just the nature of T5s.

Pacific sun support and user interface is terrible. Their programs run on crap blue tooth which is horrible and unreliable. I had their doser and couldn't even get it to accept my program using their software on Mac and PC. So after months of never being able to even use it I just sold it. Lots of cool features but that doesn't mean squat if you can't get them to work.

ATI all the way and no they don't come with bulbs.

thanks for your response but are the T5 dimmable.

I too have their Pac sun doser, premium version, had to jump a lot of hurdles, like a lot to get the float sensor and optical sensor to work. even then I am afraid of using it just because there are so many issue with dosing the correct amount. Memory wiped all of sudden. but that is whole other story than the subject we are discussion here, certainly don't want to taint this wonderful thread with a Pac Sun bashing party.

Their website lists all that out. You could have just started there.

No, you can't add more set points than what's included.

It is amazing how people grew Coral for years by having there lights turn on and off no ramp time,no set points,no bells and whistles.

Trust me in a few weeks you will not be playing with (or should not be playing with)
your new toy anymore.
Set it and forget it.

you are wrong.

you can.

Here's how your do it. i am sure many already figure it out.

make a copy of your profile you already created or create a new one.

now open it as notepad

move to
Lamp Name="LED Module 1" Type="LED" Address="1"

from this point you will see all 10 nodes listed with time stamps.
now all you need to do is just copy and past as many nodes as you want in between.

here's the example
original
Lamp Name="LED Module 1" Type="LED" Address="1"
Nodes
Node Timestamp="18000" Intensity="1" Color="9" /
Node Timestamp="36900" Intensity="60" Color="5" /
Node Timestamp="40500" Intensity="50" Color="7" /
Node Timestamp="44100" Intensity="60" Color="6" /
Node Timestamp="47700" Intensity="50" Color="7" /
Node Timestamp="51300" Intensity="60" Color="6" /
Node Timestamp="54900" Intensity="50" Color="7" /
Node Timestamp="58440" Intensity="60" Color="8" /
Node Timestamp="61200" Intensity="50" Color="5" /
Node Timestamp="79200" Intensity="1" Color="9" /
/Nodes

After Edit

"Lamp Name="LED Module 1" Type="LED" Address="1"
Nodes
Node Timestamp="18000" Intensity="1" Color="9" /

Node Timestamp="27000" Intensity="50" Color="5" /
Node Timestamp="29000" Intensity="100" Color="6" /
Node Timestamp="31000" Intensity="100" Color="6" /
Node Timestamp="33000" Intensity="100" Color="6" /
Node Timestamp="35000" Intensity="100" Color="5" /

Node Timestamp="36900" Intensity="60" Color="5" /
Node Timestamp="40500" Intensity="50" Color="7" /
Node Timestamp="44100" Intensity="60" Color="6" /
Node Timestamp="47700" Intensity="50" Color="7" /
Node Timestamp="51300" Intensity="60" Color="6" /
Node Timestamp="54900" Intensity="50" Color="7" /
Node Timestamp="58440" Intensity="60" Color="8" /
Node Timestamp="61200" Intensity="50" Color="5" /
Node Timestamp="79200" Intensity="1" Color="9" /
/Nodes

here's what have to happen
the new nodes you added, the time must change to eailier, then the one under it.(blue highlights)
the reason of doing that is if you want the nodes to be movable in the software. this is very important!

after you edit the first, all you need to do is save and load it up with the ati software. delete other led 2-4 and copy the led 1.

i dont know how many nodes you do, since i dont know how big the memory chip that ati have inside the ballast.

since the file is only 8k, i bet you can add 1000 nodes without having issue. 1k=1024 characters. i dont know you want to that many nodes lol.

well, enjoy the additional nodes which they want you to have, come on we pay high $. i think the nodes should be free

i haven't play around with the custom coloring, because it should be as simple as just adding more line to the index. since the ati software wont be able to read it, unless someone write up a program that can read it, then it's just manual edit. that would be kinda pita to do any adjustment unless you have photographic memory.

timestamp scale is in sec for those who want to do manual edit.
