Palys or Majanos?

DSCN0988 by nometank, on Flickr

Also thought I'd been invaded by aliens last night when I woke up about 3am and decided to peek at the tank while getting a drink of water. Saw what I've now identified as at least 1 peanut worm if not 2 living under this same rock.

Aiptasia

Polyps
A worm
Small brittle stars (4)
Found a crab while breaking off the pieces of rock with aiptasia... Must have injured him though found him dead a day later
Oh yeah... And 100 tiny yellow cucumbers!

Oh yeah, and speaking of hitchhikers... One of my hermit crabs came with barnacles on its shell! I got a pic of it feeding. You can see on the top 1 a blur of tiny white feeders

Also there is a picture of something else I'm not sure what it is.
Looks to be cucumbers as you said - and the other thing appears to be a corallimorpharian. I'd leave all in (if the cucumbers are still alive) - I found the ones you get with the live rock usually don't become problematic and are a nice free addition to the cleaning crew.

I'd guess it's some sort of hydroid - but very cool looking. I would leave it in.

Definitely not aiptasia - I'd guess some dead calcareous algae.

Some sort of jellyfish/hydroid - very common and harmless.

You're welcome!

And as for noobs: everyone interested enough to want to know what the critters that came with his/her live rock are, is well beyond the noob stage.

Cheers, Alex
