Definitely try to get intermixed whites and blues like that. If you add other colors, evenly spread them across the fixture.
To fix my fixture for now, I just put electrical tape over the reds on the side, and half of the blues for now. I also took the optics off. They are loose and aren't glued. When I install Bridgelux leds in the pattern above, I'm going to lose having separate white/blue channels. This is the light with no optics and taped over leds over my cichlid tank. Still too blue for my liking at 100%, but much better blended. ![]() ![]() |

I just got mine and plugged them in after 5 seconds I heard a small electrical pop and the fans stopped working. Has anyone ever had that happen?

Hmm what do yiour guys think should be the primary
white wavelengh in a fixture? 10k, 14k, 6500? I'm seeing different pictures.. some look great at 10-12k some at 6500 I think a mix of all 3 is best but wha should be the primary? I'm not sure what looks best. I like cool whites but 6500 should help pop some colors. I was thinking 15x 10k, 5x 14k, 5x 6500.. I want to be comfortable with the layout before I send his much. Need to buy 4 units (72 inch tank) |

I got the new galaxy s3 and it has a panorama style camera option on it so I tried it out on my tank worked well and this phone Actually takes very accurate photos to what the leds actually look like... this is my 65 gallon with a d120 unit with 30 blues 21 whites and 4 violets also running a reef brite
![]() This is with just the blue switch on its a tad bluer then the pic leads on but its also not as blue as most because my blue switch has some whites to break up the blue Windex look cause I have a reef brite for that look as a final light. This is 19 blue 4 white 4 violet ![]() |

It's really, really hard to judge color temps given for leds by each company like 14k 10k 6500k, because each type of led the companies use are completely different from one another.
My Cree 3500-7000k XT-E whites I used in my DIY fixture, will look completely different than a Epistar in that same range. I prefer neutral and warm whites along with cool whites, with twice the amount of Royal Blues. Throw in some 420nm actinic violets and a red here and there, and it looks much better than CW:RB. Jury is still out on Greens and other colors. |

Anyone see these on amazon? http://http://www.amazon.com/TaoTron...+reef+lighting
I really want to grow SPS, and plan on my 90 gallon tank being SPS dominant....have any opinion on if if 2 of these will be able to grow SPS? Or should I go with eshine? If the link doesn't work go to amazon and type in Taotronics reef LED's. Thanks! |

This company is my personal favorite. You can customize whatever led colors you want, and they are dimmable. Cheaper too. They will grow everything, including SPS. http://www.aliexpress.com/store/317880 I like the new Eshine light too, but it is much more expensive because of the Crees and built in controller. |

Great options out there. That Nova A6 looks awesome for the price! Dimmable, 180W:72LED, customizable.
I'm also shopping for LED's for my cabinets and ceiling lights on AliExpress...this stuff (LEDs) are way cheaper than going to Home Depot! |

Well it looks like I have to open a dispute with Twilight. Did not realize that you only have a limited time to respond before they assume that you are happy with your order and automatically release payment. I still have not received my other fixture and not real happy with the layout of the light. So we will see how this goes. Still hoping that Twilight will work with me to get these issues resolved because I like the controller function and it seems they are the only one that has it right now.

Thanks man well there is growth in some things a few sps and mostly my orange plate coral ... but besides that not much growth wise but nothing is unhappy.
Remember also I was concerned about spread so I went with the 120 degree lense they then offered so my light isn't as intense as those with the 90 degree ones ... I still love it though can't wait to get more for my upgrade. I actually set up a nano in my sons room yesterday I'm gonna put this one on there I believe and get one with a little different ratio in mine with 90 degree lenses..... not sure if I should add optics or not |

Travis good looking tank!
One thing I've noticed is the blue Brings out some good color. I got a even mix of 24 each and right now I have blue at 85% and whites at 45 to acclimate everything Corey |

As far as the other crappy light goes, dispute that as well. For me, I'm either going to replace leds, or just convert it into another DIY light with Crees. I could get away with using the same drivers and the controller, and would make it look 10x better than it does now. As far as Twilight themselves goes, I do not recommend them at all based on the poor quality of the lights we received. There are other companies out there with better products, who treat their customers better. As far as controllers go, Eshine and Houyi have nice looking models with them right now, and other options will be available soon. |
