I'm feeling good about my stocking list thus far, but the Fiance's request of "Something Purple" Threw me for loop, what are you thoughts on the following:

Tank "29 Gallon" Biocube. 23 pounds of rock, regular sand bed. Clean up crew is in, no fish have been added yet. Filterfloss/chemipure/purigen & cheato. Weekly 2gallon water changes.

• Yellow Watchman Goby & Pistol Shrimp
• Two Black & White Ocellaris (Amphiprion ocellaris) [[Will these take over when they mature and push everything else out?]]
• (optional) Two Neon Blue Gobies (Elacatinus oceanops)
• Purple Dottyback (Pseudochromis porphyreus)

Sorry, I do not provide advice on aggressive fish tanks, best results can be obtained in the Aggressive fish forum found here. But lionfish and triggers are not compatible.

As those who follow this thread know, I do not make recommendations, although I am always happy to review a stocking list for compatibility. The yellow tail damsel will be a problem going forward. If you used this fish to cycle your tank, be aware that there are MUCH better ways.

I used a Safeway shrimp to cycle my tank . The yellow tail I understand might be a problem. Right now he is picked on by my shrimp though. I guess I'll just keep looking for things, thanks though

The racoon should do fine, the yellow tang will eventually become aggressive towards new comers.

The passer angel (king angel) will become a problem eventually. Normally only the juveniles are sold but as they grow and mature, they are probably the most aggressive large angel there is.

Well this is a fact that I am aware of for sure. I knew he would outgrow the tank anyways, so he will eventually need to be re-homed. And I think after the racoon, scopas and yellow I will stop stocking, so I think it should be ok. Same goes for the blue tang, eventually he will need a larger home.

Reef Central Staff feel that you should buy fish for the tank you have and not assume that upgrades will occur or that the fish can be re-homed.

While leopard wrasses will eat frozen mysis, leopard wrasses really need larger tanks as they hunt copepods all day. They also need peaceful tank mates and a yellow tail damsel is not. Also, for future questions please refresh my memory on tank size, etc. as I have answered a lot of these and will not remember those details.

40b w/ 20l sump. If I gave my damsel to a buddy you still think I wouldn't have enough room? Even if I cultivate copepods in the sump?

It is not a room issue, it is a nutrition/feeding issue. Getting rid of the damsel will make it more feasible but you would have to feed frozen multiple times per day.
