Just got mine... http://www.aliexpress.com/store/prod...586828063.html ... (but with 90 optics) very happy with both lights and service, or what ever you want to call it...placed an order and everything was smooth sailing. Never needed to contact them and lights came fast and in impeccable condition.

Replaced 2x250 14000k and 2 T5 actinics with 2 of them. Just running at roughly 55% and they already look brighter than my old bulbs. No electronic displays and controls that will break, they have good old knobs It is also really nice not to have all that electrical junk under my tank from my old lights....now I have space for a fuge! Weeeeeeeeeeee!

Total time from order to arrival in Toronto, 8 days.

Only negative thing I have to say is that the stuff that they send you for hanging them is a joke pretty much but I never intended to use it anyway. Unless you get at least 2 lights and anchor them together all you will end up with is a LED merry-go-round.

I would highly recommend this product but make your own plans for how you will hang them.

Hey guys, sorry if this has been asked a million times. Ive tried to read through the thread but it is 137 pages lol

I am a complete noob when it comes to LED, ive only ever used MH. I just bought a new tank and would like to go LED without breaking the bank, if possible.

I just bought this 40"x20"X7" frag tank that im going to be setting up. Can anyone point me the right direction in what setup to order?

Im open to any suggestions, thanks a ton!

Depends on what you want. Do you want to have a controller or are you happy with just dimmable knobs?

http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/54..._aquarium.html

contacted the supplier for these lights and the lights are $550 and $150 for shipping! might as well buy a radion for that price!

Anyone know of a good china led light fixture that is dimmable, can grow SPS, and is about $150-$200 per unit???

Yep. They are my favorite out of all of them. If you have a tank over open water, use 90 degree optics. I think that's the one nynick just got, and it sounds like he likes them too.

That's the one I got to go over my frag tank. Shipped to my door for $175. No green or red though only white blue and violet. Love it. Some new SPS frags I got started to bleach out a little bit so I had to shuffle some stuff around but in the 2-3 weeks I've had it I have nice color and growth on some slimer, monti and tri color valida. Def good lights.

I have to say I am really liking my DIY lights from evergrow. Can't really take any good pictures yet though as they are over rubbermaids.

Price/Performance. When the Nova was on sale when you picked it up at $199, that was the best price/performance wise.

You should know my all time favorite is the Nova, but mine is now a heavily modified 180w Cree/Luxeon monster.

Well big surprise Twilight will not do a grid pattern LED layout. Now I have to wait for my other light to come in so I can send them both back for a refund. I think I will wait for everglow to come out with their light that has a built-in controller.

Mine was done through paypal and I got a tracking number and photos of my lights working. That was the on the 27th, 5 days after I paid for them, just prior to them obviously being shipped.
I have nothing but good things to say with my dealings with Lyn at Twilight.

I havent received my lights yet, touch wood.

I ordered 10 warm white and 10 cool white (wanted neutral white but couldn't find them) bridgelux leds from lederaa that should come in a few weeks. Once they're soldered in I'll show you the best pattern to fix the lights if you cant get an exchange or refund. If its like ebay, you'll probably have to pay the return shipping. It would probably be cheaper to just add the better leds in, and possibly add more whites into the blue channel, because the drivers and controller work pretty well. They were $1 each.

http://www.lederaa.com/bulk-20pc-x-3...r-chip-220-lm/

Sorry for pushing the Twilights before getting them. I didn't think they would screw up the lights that badly, and no other fixture has a controller (yet) at that price point.

Those of you who ordered controllers, what are you going to do if the controllers start to fail? I'd be worried about that.

Lyn has given me two options.

1. They will send me replacement LEDs to modify my existing light to my liking.

2. They will send me a new PCB with the B:W of 1:1 setup as I want.

I am thinking that option 2 will give me the best chance to get the light the way I want it, but would like some feedback.

I currently have an a4 running over a 12g nano, so I just bought a PAR meter to help me get my levels right so I dont fry my corals. When it comes in I will post the PAR levels on my tank.

I will be running my D120 On My 29G biocube and was thinking of putting a glass canopy on the tank to keep the evaporation down. Do you think it would cause any issues?

The lights run very cool so you will not need evaporation to keep the temperature down. Not sure what the loss in light will be from the glass but I run mine (2 over a 90g replacing 600++ wats of hm/T5)) at maybe 55-60% so you should be able to compensate.

On a related note that only a reefer will understand. Couple of hours after getting them up and running something so strange happened that I could not believe my eyes! I have no way of explaining this in any other way than that it must be something super natural. My heater is haunted! There is a strange orange light that I have NEVER seen before that keeps going on!

Haha. This seems to happen more often without metal halides for some reason. I blame Obama.

Unfortunately, I think I am going to have to make do with the Twilight units. Like Bhazard said it is going to cost me more to ship them back then it would be to modify the way I like. Other than the LED layout the fixture is a nice piece.

One thing that I noticed about these lights is that the blues are VERY strong! If you like me do not like a tank full of Windex, but rather a more natural look you might replace some of the blue with warm white instead of switching from the other whites.

If I will ever need it and can figure out how to do it I might order some warm white led and replace 20 or 30% of the blues. Currently running white/color channel at 85ish % and blue at 30% max and it is still a little bluer than 14000k halides and 2xT5 actinics.
