My tank is being made out of 1" acrylic. I have 4 wp40s... do you think the magnets will work?.

I saw a post earlier in the thread where someone was using them on 1" acrylic.
Can't remember how far back though, but not to far.

Ordered a WP-25 tonight, hopefully will get it soon! When I do, I may try and do some quick little videos on YouTube demonstrating the speed settings and everything. Assuming I get the new controller and there is any interest.

The magnet is good for 16 mm only. I used a neodymium magnet on the outside to make it stick on my 1 inch acrylic tank. You can buy cheap neodymium on ebay or amazon. A 1x1x1/2 n42 should do it. I got mine on amazon for about 5 dollars each. These magnet will just barely hold it in place but I don't feel like paying 50 dollars for a 2x2x1 n50.

Rick, I think you have to trade your 007Bond screen name back in if you can't find that one on your own... really?

As far as the wp40 goes, do you guys think 1 would be enough for a 110 gal tall (48x18x30). I've seen the amount of water movement in the shallower tanks. Just wondering if the increased depth of my tank would be a factor to consider.

I just got my 2 wp40's from the group buy, 1 is complete but the other didn't come with a controller and I didn't get the 2 new controllers to replace my wp25's older controllers. I am sure this will get worked out but as of now 1 pump is worthless lol.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Or maybe remove the magnet from dry side and use it along the with Ebay magnet.

Yeah. He has worked very hard on this group buy and I don't think he has gotten the recognition he deserves.
I knew he would get it straightened out for you.

I'd like to thank Macboat for all the hard work
I've been running it since Friday at 75% on W1 and it is dead quiet, at 100% it sounds like a cell phone vibration and was driving my kids nuts. Else mode is nice but it has the same problem when it runs at full speed. I may try putting it on the back wall of the tank and see how it works. |

FS is now selling the new 1F controller as an upgrade for $13 each plus shipping. The new controller works with both WP40 and WP25. It added 2 more H modes and 3 speeds for W1 mode. I ordered 2 controllers the total with shipping came out to be less than $34. I think it is a good value as backup controller.

My WP40 has been running in my tank for over a month now. I am running it stock 100%. I thought that it would quiet down after a few weeks of running and I have to say that mine is just as loud as the day I bought it. I have taken it apart and made sure that the shaft was in the correct postion and still the same results. When I run in all modes except low I can hear it.
This is not a great big problem for me since my tank is in the living room in the basement so we are not around it all the time. Second the sound of the water entering the overflow mask the sound as well. I will try the new controller from FS to see if that works out. Well maybe I can't order one from FS so I am open for offers from some one willing to sell me one. I really like the flow I am seeing in W1 mode but the under tow is too much so I have to leave it in else or low. As far as I am concerned this product is what I expected and I would buy another if I needed one. Just hoping I won't have to use my spare I purchased.
