I took out rooks from my 215 gal reef tank to set up my new 135 gal reef tank last weekend. And very much to my surprise I found one of these guys under the rocks after all those years (tank is 9 years old). I read they like to munch on certain soft corals like zoas, star polyps etc. I guess know I know why they disappeared slowly over the years or in case of star polyps never made it in the tank....

Crabs!!!

Can someone tell me what this is and if it is safe for the fuge with Chaetomorpha? Or should I just throw him out in the back yard (the ocean is in my back yard)? He is living in the bottom of a bottle on my kitchen table for now....

A few more

While I sit here better go ahead and get the rest too.

What kind of crab is this? I know I need to get him out but can he go in the fuge? He sure is ugly! Sorry for the bad pic but he wouldn't come any further out of the rock.

Aiptasia?

Got 5 or 6 of these little flower looking things that glow yellowish under the lunar LEDs...

Last on the guy who gave me the Cheato had this and threw it in the bag. Said it lived through his tank cycle. Can anyone identify it?

I just wanted to make sure they actually were what they looked like they were though. It's so overwhelming learning all this stuff. I haven't read this whole post/thread, but a big portion of it. It's amazing how much is out there, and that's before you get to fish and corals!

This is my first salt water tank. It been up and running for four days now. I was looking at it and seen this clear bug crawling around I blinked and it was gone. I do have 100lbs if live rock so I'm sure it came from there. I got a quick picture but it's not the best. Can you tell me if I need to find a way to kill this thing.

Hi I need some help. Does Myrionema amboinense look a bunch of small brown feather dusters? I have touched them to see if they sting and didn't feel anything. When I did touch them they all retracted back into their tubes. I would post a picture but not sure how to do it on here being that it wants a URL.
