I am replacing my a150w with 2 160s on my 18g cadlights in hope to give some SPS more light and reduce a single source of light/shadowing. I didn't go with the 360 because I wanted to light the tank from 2 angles instead of a single point. Its a bit expensive, but I'm hopeful it will keep all sides of the SPS branches colorful in my small tank.

Not with the new kessils yet. I can post a picture of the single a150w later tonight if you'd like.

I am possibly looking at the A360WE for my 5' 92G (59X20X22). Question is do I need 2 or is 3 overkill? Or just wait for the AP700 whenever they decide to release it, thanks.

For those with the new A160WE running with an Apex, how dim can you get them? I have 2 A360WE's and as you guys probably know, it cuts off at around 13% which is still pretty bright. I have a supplemental DIY LEDs that I'm looking to replace with a pair of A160WE's if it dims considerably less then the 360's.

Wow what're your tank dimensions? You're willing to cut out that much light just to be able to dim all the way down to 0? |

I run my a360w at 15% max intensity currently over my 18in square cube. If I ran it at 60% intensity the glass on my tank would melt.

Most of the time, no. Turning up your intensity is not going to increase coverage. |

I would imagine that this has been asked already on this thread but skimmed through a bunch of pages and haven't seen it. Kessil's website says the AP700 is coming soon. Anyone know what soon means? This is the fixture I want to go with as I love kessils technology but I have a hood on my tank I feel that the A360s would not be good for my setup. Soon to me means weeks but to a company it could be 6 months.

Been running my kessils for a month or so now and my corals seem to have all responded positively to them. They are all running in a line on my 125--the two 360s in the middle, 1ft off center (2ft between) and a 160 on each end, on center between the tank end and the 360.
My question is this: I seem to have some real shadowing in the front of the rock and the coral specimens (the display side)--especially on the ends. What is the best way to solve this? Was thinking of a true lumen strip across the front but worried it won't be strong enough. Kessils are mounted w/ goosenecks and 90 degree adaptors about 1ft above the water--and there is a glass top. My other alternative is to run small strips front to back--I'm worried about making shadows if I do this. Also thought about a t-bulb but shadowing could be an issue unless I hung above the kessils--can't seem to find a skinny one bulb fixture. Thoughts?

On the dimming question--you can program them to dim to 0% intensity but I think they actually stop dimming at around 10% or so and sit there until 0% is reached and they shut off. Because of this I have my two 160s come on a minute before, and go off a minute later, than my 360s. I will probably increase this to 5 minutes or so eventually but have not gotten around to it. I am using the kessil spectral controller.
