very nice build, one question though... where did you get that submersible led light?

It's still in transit but I'll tell you what it's like when I get it.

Ah, it's good to see that 20L again! I think it hasn't made an appearance in about 10 pages (I may be wrong here).
I'm glad it is coming along well. Having the two tanks plumbed into the sump could be fun. You may even decide that you don't want it as a QT at some point... It would be easy to make it into a specialty tank (i.e. sea horses) and still have the stability of your larger system. Is the submersible LED light for the moonlight effect or for algal growth? Also, nice pipe-wrench. It looks like it has seen more than a few pipes in its day.

Yes, I've been wanting to post the picture of the two tanks together for some time. It's the first time I've taken a pic of the two on the stand together. Some people were wondering why the thread title mentions the two. The picture explains it all.
The two tanks won't be plumbed into the same sump. This defeats the purpose of the principles of quarantine. Your idea could be fun with a specialty tank having the stability of the larger system. I don't know yet. The led will be used for algae growth, may be moonlights if I come up with a decent way to mount one. Here's the link: http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_ViewIt...ILTFILDSB.html We use pipe wrenches all over the ranch for the irrigation system. They double as hammers.

I thought that I had read somwhere that you wanted it to be a part time QT tank... like you would disconnect it from the total system whenever you needed to use it as a QT. I suppose that even if you were doing this, you would need to move the inhabitants of the tank whenever it needed to be a QT... You're on a cattle ranch, right?

Here's an update. No pictures to show because none turned out due to low light levels.
Took stock sponge I've been using for biological filtration out of center chamber and modded so I can use it in third chamber for auxiliary filter, but mostly to stop skimmer bubbles from going into tank. I just cut it to fit to length, then made a hole in it from top to bottom to thread the return hose through. There's a tight fitting on all sides of the chamber and around the hose to stop bubbles. Then I connected a different mini-jet 606 to the Remora Nano with a vinyl hose and fired it up.

Hey Cherubfish, how's it going?
I've been away for about 2 months... It looks like you have been too. Hopefully you haven't given up on the build!

Hey Rosseau, good to see you back too!
There was an illness in the family and it took awhile to get the ranch back on track.

Someone gave me the link to these submersible lights. I just can't seem to be resourceful enough to find bargains like this. I just got to avoid impulsive purchases. Anybody else feel that way. That's the beauty with forums, we can bounce things off each other.

This is a nylon mesh mechanical filter to put inside internal overflows. It would produce some 'trates that would be good for clams, a select few corals and maybe cnidarians. Overall the ideal would be zero nitrates. I might send this thing back.

Got ready for drilling 20 long. Drilled 20 long. Try it, it's easy. The hole is just a drain in the 20 for salt mixing while my NC6 is temporarily the display.

Setup the ato base unit
Connected the aqua-lifter pump from the top-off reservoir to the tank and plugged it into the ato base unit. Installed the sensor in the tank by strapping it to the skimmer intake in back chamber 1 with a cable tie.

Did a mod to my Nano Remora to rid me of some noise. It was a folded up paper towel stuffed into the injection port of the skimmer and it worked well. Forgot to check it and it turned to mush. I'm goin to look for some type of cloth I could put in there.

Upcoming projects:
1. cut hole in corner of NC6 acrylic top to accommodate cords. 2. cut round hole in same top to allow automatic feeder to drop food in water. 3. plan a way to rig ozone into skimmer.

Going to use this cutting tool to take a corner out of the NC6 acrylic top.
