Would you say learning to program it is easy? I tried doing it without having my light since im still waiting for it to get delivered and it seemed difficult.
I was a software engineer for 5-yrs (and still in the industry just not at the terminal anymore) so I am probably biased, I have been programming and jacking with software in general for a long-long time!

If you tell me about your setup and what light you are coming from I can send you one of my config files or try to make one for you as a baseline. PM me if you are interested.

And thanks for reading through, hope you enjoyed the adventure! And mostly hope you took one or two lessons learned from it...

Im not going to lie, a sunset in the tank is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. Radion FTW!!! Will have to try a timelapse shot on my DSLR to show the sheer coolness of it, assuming that any corals survive the light blast...

Apparently I underestimated the sheer power of this Radion! I dropped my cycle to 5hr and 30% and only seeing a little PE out of the softies. My acros are totally bleached but can still see polyps so not dead yet. Stylos and birds aren't bleached but still 0 PE, and the rics are fairly closed.

I bumped intensity down to 20% and keeping cycle at 5hr, hope to see improvement soon and not kill anything!

The latest you can set "start night" is at 11pm and you can't select daytime light profiles (12k or others) once you are in the night region.

I am still playing with it and getting closer to a configuration that will do what I want. I have an email open for feedback to EcoTech which I will send once I have had more time to learn the software and tailor it to my tank.
Yep . I would say thumbs up for support from the ECO dudes .
I think u made a good impulse purchase . Evaporation shouldn't be too much since u switched to that LED unit .

People seriously get outta hand with LED power. A 130w led is still the same evap/heat as a 130w MH. Only difference is that LED produces more lumens per watt, so its better efficiency. LED's will still heat your tank. I was in the LFS earlier and he was talking about how LED's add NO heat to the tank, and that is just not true.

Anyway, I have a chiller, so I don't care much about that, but the extra evap has been from going lidless. Working on cutting up a piece of plexi to fit in the stock rim.

Thanks!

Acros are still bleached but looking a tad better and showing PE. Stylos and birds still arent bleached and showing better PE. Softies look back to normal.

I made a stop by the LFS today and made a very not-me purchase. Got an ORA Deresa, ORA Neon Dottyback, linckia orange star, and a snail re-up on my CUC.

Really hoping now that the new adds work, but also that my bleached corals come back to full beauty in a few weeks!

Why not just add an ATO?
A JBJ and MJ1200 and you're set, $100 and done.

Still doesn't solve the jumper problem. Id prefer to have the lid which widens fish choice, reduces evap, and is extra insurance against a Radion accidentally falling in the tank :-)

Hey ange062,

Congrats on the Radion! Is there a tank mount available as opposed to hanging from a ceiling?

I would love to have one but the AI Sol fits my tank footprint better. (29G now and probably upgrading to a 36" cube thereafter.)

At this point no options period, it comes in a box and you figure out how to hang/mount it. I thought about the AI Sol also, but I am really glad a spent a bit extra to get the Radion. It is tons more power and way more adjust ability.

Some pics of my new adds. I am really hooked on a light blue marbled ultra ORA maxima and a black/gold one, and feel that I may be back to the LFS to pick them up soon!

Linckia Star:

ORA Deresa, this doesnt do it justice I really need to learn how to shoot on LED!!

FTS:

Tank is starting to adjust to the Radion at 20%. All my softies are back open, LPS looking good, and the SPS is starting to unbleach already. Hope to ramp back up my cycle to 8-9hrs soon and increase intensity so I can grow anything!!!

Anyone using an AC 70 as a fuge for cheato with their 28 nano?

If so, what chamber does it dump into, the return that is?

Here is what the tank looks like at "sunset" with the Radion. Also managed to snag a pic of my ORA Neon Dottyback:

Only the ORA green stylo is back in healthy shape after bleaching all my SPS. The others are recovering, except for maybe the red planet which I think might be toast.

All the LPS and softies are back to normal.

Did you go open top?! You got any pics, I've got some jumpers and just can't pull the trigger on losing the closed top.

Ange, what macro algae is that front and center and are you not concerned of it taking over the tank?

It's some type of caulerpa I got for free from an LFS. While it grows fast if your phosphates are high, it's never been a nuisance for me. Easy enough to pick it out and throw away. It's been in my tank since the first couple of weeks, so quite a while now...

The red planet that is front and center on the "top shelf" of rock looks like it is toast. I am going to give it a few more days then probably pull it out. I have had corals come back from the brink (my ORA green birds for example) where they looked surely doomed but somehow came back to full health.

Been thinking of replacements for it, and either going to do
1) ORA orange cap
2) Combine frags of ORA blue and pink millepora next to each other

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Changed out my GFO tonight along with a water change. Figured I would try to highlight some of my new adds:
1) ORA ultra blue maxima
2) ORA Tricolor Valida Acro
3) ORA Blue Mille Acro

Also changed up my light schedule over the weekend to have 12k "daylight" period at 8-hr not including sunrise/sunset and bumped intensity to 25% for 2-hrs at midday. Everything seems to have reacted well so will bump intensity again later this week.

FTS Shots:

And a couple topdowns which I have never done but thought it would be cool after staring down in there earlier during the WC with all the pumps off:

PS: It's crazy how different clams can look from different angles!
