Moving from 4 T-5 to a 160W 16K razor. Anyone have suggestions/tips for acclimation? (e.g. what percentages to start at?)

start at: A 32% and B 50% as your highest points of the day and work your way up. try 1% increase everyday, or a 5% weekly. I prefer the 1% increase everyday because it didnt seem to shock my corals due to the slight increase over time, but it took a while to get my channels to: A 68% B 100% !

Mike,
Corals look great! Colors are fantstico! So are you still impressed with the light and its capabilities? Seems to be the light to get for LED at a reasonable price.

Thanks!

Thanks! I'll do the 1% a day approach and hopefully everything is happy.

I really like these LEDs but I currently have Ecoxotic Panorama Pros over my biocube (2 445nm and 1 8000k) I have a few SPS an I feel like growth is good but color isnt. Thats why Im worried about getting another led. I want more sps and from what I hear HQI and LED are better than leds for sps. Does anyone think they are getting just as good colors with the R420R? (It will be the 20.5" over the Solana 34 Im setting up) Thanks for any help!

I have had mine now for 2 1/2 months and so far very happy with it. I have had some frags that's always been brown and no growth under 8 bulbs of T5 and now colouring up and growing. Honestly hard to say if this is as good as halides. Too early to tell. However, the dusk to dawn effect can't be beat. The low electricity and less heat is a big plus as well, not to mention longer life span on the bulbs.

Some sps like Mh's, some like T5's and I'm sure some will like LED's.

Trying to decide on whether these will work or not for me. Anyone using these on large tanks? How well will the coverage be with 3 of the 160w units running front to back on a 72x30x26 tank? Also, do these have good PAR down to 26"?

What is the spread on the 120w units and the 160w units?

Hi guys, I have a 48''Lx18"Wx24"H tank. I'm currently using 2x150W HQI + 4x54w actinic. that's totally 516w. Do you think a 160w 27" razor suitable for my tank?

I just set up my new 120 gallon, and need temp lighting while I build my DIY fixture. With the coupon codes out there now, I decided to order myself 2 Razors.

I'll be taking PAR measurements too. I've tested a lot of different chinese fixtures, so I'm looking forward to testing these.

What's the coupon code? As I know, Premium Aquatics offers 14% off coupon "EARLYBIRD" so you can get a 160w at around $430.

been following this thread ...or parts of it for some time. I am in the market for light fixture for my 40B, which is my first build. it is nearing completion and this aspect has been the most confusing, as there are so many choices and opinions. i am back and forth between this fixture, especially at the cost of the previous two posts......or a used MH setup. I love the features and look of this light. Is there any reason i shouldn't consider it??? I love the shimmer of MH's....does this light provide that look? Thanks for everyone's help

Nope.

Turns out Maxspect pulled an Ecotech and told all the companies not to allow sale prices.

Disturbing trend. Guess I won't be trying their lights after all.

Doesn't work there either. They were the ones that told me that Maxspect told them to exclude it. Neptune as well.

If Maxspect/Coralvue is reading this, this just caused me to cancel/have canceled 2 Razors in which I would have posted multiple pictures, impressions and PAR readings over a 120 gallon tank. This is basically free publicity, and the more members post favorably about them, the better chance they buy them over competitors.

Looks like I need to get my DIY light finished asap now.
