Now that he is 19, it is clear to me that he is 100% unreliable. At 17, he was 98% reliable. Amazing what a couple of years can do to a person.

We had the eel 1.5 years. They are known to escape, but this one had never seemed remotely interested in getting out. The canopy is closed on three sides, only open in the back. Since it vents heat and allows air in, I really didn't think it was a problem. I guess it would have been smarter to put eggcrate across the back.

Marc,

Yeah, I should have done the same thing when I lost one of my clownfish back in Chicago. This hobby can be frustrating sometimes, but you learn from it.

One of my projects on the backburner is to fit egg crate to my open back of my canopy. That will be done during the wife's next business trip

I have a real cheap timer I use for the light over my Q-tank (yeah, like you need advice from me ).

I guess that depends on what fish you keep. I also have an open top, but I checked to make sure that I didn't buy any fish with medals in the high jump.

I know, yet another timer. I have a bucket full of faulty ones. I just didn't have time to find a working one before I left, but I did explain how the light needed to be turned off. I guess I should have just left it off for three days, since the MH lighting over the reef was probably just fine. Lesson learned.

Didn't know you were such a Britney fan. That's great you got it eating. My new Pearlscale decided he loves Mysis yesterday.

Your FTS is crazy. When I look at it, it makes my eyes hurt. Weird what the frequency change can do.

Love the video! How many choreograph lessons did the Copperbank have to take? Was the Brittney song her first choice? She's got a bright future ahead of her, that one! hehe.... love it!

by the way, I meant to say, glad the Copperband is doing okay- I had one briefly years ago, and lost it... was very sad; they're beautiful fish.

The food the CBB is eating is Hikari Mysis soaked in Kent's Garlic Extreme. The first couple of days, the fish wasn't interested but now as soon as the food hits the water, the hunt is on.

And "Drive Me Crazy" seemed appropriate for this video.

TheCoralReef731, I have no idea you are referring to. Frames Per Second would be FPS...

Marc,

Great video! It is a fun way to demonstrate that if you QT a fish first that it can get used to a captive environment and even fish that are hard to feed can be trained to eat frozen in the QT tank before placement in the display

Keep us informed of its progress and hopefully it will eat the frozen in the display as well.

Brian

That is absolutely true. I've been using mysis, but I really need to try using my regular food now as that is what the reef gets each day.

Full Tank Shot. That makes sense. The poster must have been referring to Kelvin ratings (or spectrum of lighting). Thanks!

For my site? Seems to be working fine for me.

And for those of you that like to know statistics.... I was looking at the stats for my site for the first 12 days of the year, and already over 1 million hits occured. If that is an average that remains consistant, mathematically I figured my site will hit 30 million hits this year. All all of this occured because I loved clownfish enough to set up a tank 8 years ago, and later decided to document what I've learned.

melev - my lfs gave be a blue acro and must have been rough on one branch as flesh was hanging when I got it home off of one small branch - that one branch looks white now but has not otherwise receded and the acro seems otherwise healthy - should I take any action like break off the white part?
thanks - I asked this in coral forum but the reply gods don't like me sometimes
