I am going to do the same next bulb change I run 4 super blues with the coral lamp which give perfect colour but want to try a bluer MH and put some white T5s in. What's the gun MH 250wde everyone's using? I am worried about losing par going bluer as the Giesemann coral is a beast!

It's difficult finding PAR readings as the Crystal was introduced towards the end of MH's hayday and so I imagine that not too many people were interested in testing it. I did find some Lumens figures for both the Megachrome Coral and the Crystal which may give an idea of comaparitive output. Both bulbs are claimed by the manufacturer to output circa 13,000 lumens

Well I got my Matrixx II last week and all I have to say is OMG this is the nicest looking T-5 fixture ever, this is pure quality. I will get some pics later, I had a issue with a frag tank springing a leak and have to get this fixed first.
Anyway this fixture replaced a ATI powermodule T-5. I always thought ATI was a decent looking fixture but the Matrixx Puts it too shame with its glass top and white paint on the edges. The Black glass top adds a bunch of class.. So much so now my tank and stand dont match up! LOL.. It is pretty close to ATI in other features though. I picked up the non dimmable version. Just like ATI it has No power switches and that was my main gripe with ATI also. The other thing is the cheap power supply that ATI threw in for the fans. Well the Matrixx still has that power supply but does not seem as cheap. Mine is a 6 lamp fixture and each pair of lamps is on its own ballast which is a huge step up from my ati fixture where 4 lamps were on the same ballast and two one the other. Nicer for dusk to dawn... The six lamp version has two fans one on each end. They are very quiet. The only odd thing about the fixture is you have to pop the side off to get at the lamps and remove the lens. There are two screws you remove. It aint a huge deal and actually makes it easier to replace the lamps. Was always a pain on the ATI. Basically as far as quality this is a slight step up from ATI in my opinion. ATI is a very high quality fixture in the first place so it is not easy to make a fixture better than ATI. As far as looks this is a major step up, again this is the best looking fixture ever. I hope they offer this in blue and red also with he black glass, that would be cool. Racing colors because this is the Ferrari of fixtures. They also have a dimmable T-5 version and they have a led version called the Futura.. I am really impressed.. No reason with the quality of these fixtures that Giesemann doesn't do good this time around in the states especially with Corlvue behind them this time. Thank you Coralvue..

hi guys I have a 72 inch 3x 250w DE MH giesemann fixture over my 300DD. I bought the fixture used. No t5 just the 3 x250 MHs in the fixture. Not sure as the model name its blue.
Im a little disappointed with the par and am considering whether or not I can upgrade the fixture to 400w. Im currently using 20kXM bulbs which are < 5months old. Im hoping someone here will be able to tell me: 1. Is it feasible to upgrade the fixture to 400w? 2. How do I do this? Thanks in advance Aran |

oh im also planning on getting 14-15k bulbs which should help the par as well from what I read.
The giesemann MH fixture is across the front half of my tank and there are 3 leds across the back. |

After 5 years of LEDs I am going back to MHs and waiting for my spectra to arrive
In the mean time - I have taken down my fish only which has the Geisemann T5 reflexx on it, bought in 2009. Excellent light and works great, since Geisemann are a little hard to come by, no one is selling them (also because they are such good light people usually don't get rid of them) anyhow, any thoughts on how much to sell for?

Just picked up a nice Giesemann Infinity fixture a few weeks ago. Very nice fixture and good quality. Needed some cleaning and new bulbs, but for the price... I couldn't pass it up. Always like the MH/T5 combo versus the LED's. Will post pictures later.

Just joined with a new 8x54 Matrix II Dimtec. Loving this fixture so far. Same control as the Futura.
Here is me playing with the settings...clouds with T5s..pretty cool. One thing to note with the 8 bulb, you can dim 4 groups of 2, so the 5th dimmable channel (purple / white) is useless with this fixture.

I'm pretty much sold on going with the Matrix II over an ATI sunpower, these look incredibly well made. I'll be stretching my budget as it is, so no dimtec for me, but I'm sure it'll still be a great light.

Yea I have two sunpowers and power module and the longer I have the Matrixx the more I like it... I have fans out on one ATI fixture. The one thing that was good on ATI though is the reflectors. Giesemann is really going to make a comeback if they can keep this up.. It is about time there is some competition on the upper end for t-5. All their fixtures look hot...
