I have a receipt for the order from a couple of days ago for 3 of these at the discounted price. I don't think they can cancel consumated orders.

I have two on backorder since yesterday and they told me today they would still honor the discounted price. I guess there was really a lot of lights ordered.

I am going to try running them front to back using the leg stands as there is no extra cost. If they seem to get in the way I will hang them, but I am hoping they will not get in the way of servicing the tank as they are not that wide.

36x24x24 and 27" Razor 1600
Will a 27" light cover a 36 x 24 x 24 tank or do I need to get a 36 x 18 x 24 high tank?

Such a turn off when stores are not honouring the sale prices.

I think its more that the manufacturor /distributor wont allow the stores to discount the price, not that the stores dont want to discount the price along with their other goods. Either way it is unfortunate, I'm looking to buy 3 of the units also, I would have jumped on buying them this week but I guess I might as well wait longer.

I just got my order of 2 of 3 Razor 160w 16k models. I tried one already and it is quite bright and very impressed so far. I can't wait to try it on the tank. My last unit is on backorder and should be here by Christmas. I did get the 14% discount and free shipping.

I have a 20 inch 16k I'm considering selling. It was over my 38g IM Nuvo for a few weeks.

Beachbum, be careful on what you post. You technically are not following the rc rules and might get in trouble for that. There are rules to selling and the mods don't take it lightly.

Thanks madean. Wasnt trying to unload it here. Guess I was trying to say I'm not crazy about the Razor. Went back to T5s temporarily till I decide what I'm going to do. Pic of my tank when the Razor was on it.

These ppl selling need to realize this is still under scrutiny. Even I myself is watching very closely. So they need to continue to promote by competitive pricing.
Reefers are still cautious about using LEDs. Oh, BTW. I have RTN on one of my fav corals. No other change to the tank but the light! This one's been struggling from the get go.

I'm looking at a 120 over my small tank. Thoughts on running this over a 18"x18"x9"? I suspect having to hang it ~12" off the tank.

I looked at one of the 120w units at my LFS & was compeletely underwelmed. It was over a 24 x24" cube & the whole tank looked like the corals were in a cave with spotlights on them.
Way too dark/dim for my tastes. After seeing that, I seriously doubt I'd be happy with two of the 160w units over my 48x24" 120g Sps dominant system. I would need 3 of those to make me happy & with the tank's cross brace that won't work. I'm still searching for any commercial unit that legitmately covers 24 x 24" with good spectrum & intensity without supplemation & just as importantly, looks good. I'm not competely ruling out the razor, but I'm disappointed. Performance is the key right now, so we'll see...........need more time. Also, just wanted to say thanks to Mike & others for posting impressions & performance updates.

I could not find the vendor the bhazard mentioned that stll had the 14% discount but I did find another that accepted a 10% sitewide discount and free shipping. I am happy with that. I dont want to outright post the name as they are not a site sponsor and I don't want to possibly break any rules but the site name starts with a "P" and is a complete pets site.
