I would look into possibly another sump. they aren't as expensive as they used to be have one made or get a stock one from marinedepot or something..... I would go the extra mile to get this thing to work for ya. I just got the BM200. I decided the 250 was a little out of my range. seeing that i now have two skimmers to sell.

this is the old one :

they put less layer becuase it's take more watt with more layer and the add 2 pump to get more bubbles.

if i put 2 gen x pump with one layer on my CS8-3 (can't put 2 on my CS250) it will take total of 80-90 watt but the result will be better then the ati. i am still wait for the shipping and i will compare it to 2 pump if i add one more sedra pump it was the best i believe 2 sedra will tkae with the mesh about 60 watt and i am sure the result will be better on the 30" high skimmer.

as you see the mount the pump like the deltec stile and it's pull the water from the bottom and and when they will make external they will change the skimmer body.

A little update...The skimmer is in the sump now. I am in the process of dremeling the sump. It'll probably be another hour or so till I finish.

Sorry Mavgi, I didn't take the pump apart. It's a little too late to take apart now as it is in the sump.

it's ok , the reason i ask you becuase in the old pump the mesh was screw with a washer to the impeller and in the new pump i think they put it with the tie strip

Ok, it's operational! Just a few quick comments.

The Good:

-OMG, bubble city!!! The amount of bubbles is nothing short of amazing!
-Construction is good with a few minor imperfections. Let's face it, this isn't a BK.
-Did I mention an extreme amount of bubbles?

The not so good:
-It leaks. It looks like the seal isnt that good between the cup and body. The cup just sits on the body with no o-ring. I wonder if it was supposed to come with an o-ring?
-Since the water level is lower than the output, there is water splashing in the sump.

I'll take some pics now.

Probably should have been an O-ring, maybe sift through the packaging material, see if it's in there someplace. How loud is the skimmer besides the water splashing? Pretty quiet with the two pumps going? Thanks for all the pics and info Sang!

Can't wait to see more pics.

Also, I talked to Greg @ ReefGeek. There was a price increase. You'll have to call to confirm prices, but I think it was about $50 increase per skimmer. I'm glad I got in on the pre-orders, for not only did I get the October 10% discount, but I got the discount on top of the original lower price. Sorry for the bad news everyone else, but, that's life.

Hehe, easier said than done! It's going to take me a full day to sift through all those packing peanuts! So far, it is whisper quiet. I don't hear any noise at all!

I'm not sure I quite understand the question. Could you be more specific? Are you talking about the body? If so, it is acrylic.

Yes acrylic or pvc bodies. When you said a few imperfections I began to wonder on their construction. I need something for a hopefully1000gals. These look really nice and short.

I really shouldnt have mentioned imperfections because frankly, the construction is great. To tell you the truth, I was expecting far worse when it came to the acrylic job as I have been reading some reports on it. However, in those reports, they were comparing it to a BK. Unfair, imo.

Thanks Mavgi. I definitely did not get that o-ring, hmm.

I wonder if I could buy a 90 deg elbow and place it on the outlet. That way, the water would be angled downward and the splashing will be minimal.
