I have 5 of the Tao tronics based set ups with the 3 w epistar (taiwan) chips on my 125, use to have only 3. When I had the 3 only I used a lab grade meter that measured in microeinstiens and with the lights hanging 5 inches above the water with no optics par was over 500 a foot down in the tank and fell off from there 220 to 300 on the sand with 5 of them it is 300 everywhere on the sand and have no problem growing sps, also they came with a 3 yr warranty

I have a 24g aquapod and already have an LED light on it. The ratio is 1:1
60 blue and 60 white. They are 1 watt each and I'm going to get 3 watt leds. I think the one I want is the Evergrow and this is it. http://www.aliexpress.com/store/prod...587062331.html Do you think that the color setup on the first image showing it lit up would be alright? Since I will be mounting the light about 4in above the water in a canopy, that I should get the optics for it or not? I'm thinking because the light will be on a nano that no optics would be better. I'm open to any input you guys offer. Thank you. |

Looks fine to me.
Remember to specify 3w LEDs, As the link mentions 1w for some reason. They also have a new light with a built in controller and moonlights that is coming out. Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2 |

Anyone else notice any color morphs using the D120? I have a piece of ATL green plating monti w/pink polyps that has turned a bluish purple. I think it looks good and healthy was just wondering If anybody else had any change of colors.. It's been around 2 months.

48Lx42W? Thats a big tank.
Since one light can cover around 24x24, you might need 4 of them. Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2 |

Been A little less than 2 months.. Wonder if it's because I have my blues turned up so much more than my whites? With both equal I have a 10 k look so I shoot for 20k. Other than that the light is awesome. Shoot even that is cool its a blue plate Lol. Everything else is doing great and love the light as much as I do. The monte is growing fine it just changed from green to blue. The bigger piece in my DT is all green but growing just as good FWIW..

Have just ordered my 5th set off ebay shipped under $200 the first 4 have blown me away as my corals love them. Going to hold back ordering more and wait on being able to add other colors.

Just curious if anyone has the Nova A8. For a 4 ft tank it would seem easier to just use the one fixture. Does anyone have any opinions on this?

I saw a pic of someone who did this on another forum, and there were shadows along the sides about 6 inches in. If you want those shadows for low light coral, it would work fine.

The reason I didn't go with the a8 was because of the center braces on my tank other than that it'd been a no brainier

Writing a first impression up now and uploading pics. This light is HIGHLY impressive, and surprised me quite a bit.. in a good way
![]() When I get time, possibly tomorrow, I'll take it apart to check out the internals. Then when the PAR meter arrives I'll test that too. It's plenty bright. |
