Sorry for your loss bro. From what I read Im leaning more towards the bio pellets for the cause of your crash. Iodine and a metal razor blade are not gonna crash your tank. Unless you were ridiculosly dosing iodine then maybe but regular dosing wont do that. Bio pellets on the other hand I have always said should be for huge systems only. Rtn is the number one effect from those pellets. Your stripping the tank of to much nutrients to fast.. I would chuck that pellet reactor and load up again. As far as those apollos I told you before that Im not convinced.. Spectrum on them is to narrow.. Plus you cant see the true coral colors. Everything looks the same under them...imo

I got him from a local LFS. For some reason they don't have good relationship with RC so I can't name them here.

I am not convinced that pellets were cause of my crash.I run them since first day I set up this tank,so it's not like there was rapid change in nutrients in my tank.I only dosed iodine in small amounts, for now I stopped and will rely more on WC. Most likely it was Alk spike.I did test with Salifert every month, but test was more than 1 year old but not expired according to date on the box.I got a new test and tested again few days after the crash and my Alk was 15. Normally I keep it around 8.So this is my lesson learned, never use old tests.

Mark,

Really sorry for your loss! I used your tank as inspiration for my 90G Tech - down to the ATI T5 lighting. I am sure you can have it all back in a year or two. I think I have a lot of similar SPS in my tank, including your super bright slimer. Please let me know if you need any frags to get you started again!

wow what an absolutely beautiful fish. My favorite fish in the hobby. Where did you pick it up? You should go to the reef fish section and post those pictures in the official borbonious anthia thread that you'll find on the first few pages in that thread.

What size bulk heads do those fit in? I looked at premium and they have 1.5" I thought oceanic uses a 1" bulk head?
