I have a 120 and feel 2 would suffice . If it doesn't I'll either do a t5 strip or get a used sol to throw in the middle.

Looks even better from the front...i have a 120, i dont think i could get away with only two vegas. Only because i want to keep sps and my tank is 5 ft rather than 4ft standard. Bnumair, how would you compare your SOLS to your Vegas

to me the vega has more brightness even at lower intensities but i am sure every setup is different. i like the way colors on corals pop out a lot more than sols. growth is a different issue which we will not know for a while.

I would tend to agree! I have a 60 cube and 1 vega is more than enough for the space 8 inches A.W.L.!

My first impressions :

The unit is built well and designed to be continually modular like past product lines! The Vega color has a nice blend of color and spread. The spread EASILY covers my 24" cube and I will consider one unit for my 40 breeder. As a former Radion owner I appreciate the controller option AI has provided. Also, The Ext mouting systems is a vast improvement over the sols mouting options. I have no regrets with this purchase! I have noticed the Very deep blue leds while having similar specs seem to cast more of a purple hue than that of their cree counterpart.

My only suggestion to Aqua Illumination is to use Neutral whites vs the current cool white configuration.

Can someone point me to a reference for setting timers manually? Can't figure it out and can't find any kind of user guide. Thanks.

My color vega turns on the green LEDs only after 10pm for the lunar cycle. Anyone know if we can change from green to blue? Or adjust the color/intensity for lunar? Or do colors/intensity shift with the real lunar cycle?

Someone correct me if I am wrong but wouldn't you set the evening color and moonlight in your mode. Change the % and color that is on the "off" side??

That whats I initially thought.
I have the evening set at:

(Nite)
White: 0%
Blue: 2%
Royal: 2%
D-Blue: 2%
Red: 0%
Green: 2%

It must just be than when using the easy mode, each color gets a different ramp percentage... It's fine for now. No time to mess the 15 manual timers.

What are others using as the nite settings? Even at 1% or 2%, things are quite bright...!

I am using 1% royal blue only. It is plenty, you've gotta be quite bright. I would like my critters to actually sleep lol.

Was really excited about getting a vega but ended up getting a Maxspect razor and i have to say its beautiful on my 46 because it has stands and hangers. I went with the stands for my set up.

I'm thinking about going with the vaga's for my 90 gal (48"l x 24"t x 18"W) mixed tank more SPS then any thing. I have a DIY LED set up now and have had good growth. Would 2 work on my tank there is not much info on the AI site.

if you go 8" or more above water line u will get away with 2 with a very slight dim area in the corners.

Any par readings yet. I know some people have posted pics of the light looking brighter compared to sols. But that could be an illusion if the optics are not the same. Just curious if anybody has tried to get par readings yet. And not just directly under the light but side to side and front to back.

@MBSL55 also posted way back that his PAR measurements show that the Vegas at 100% were close to Sol Super Blues at 80%, both 14" AWL. He didn't post specific PAR numbers but at least gives you some comparison to the Sols.

All the other Vega owners will be the trade in program. I bet they go for $25 on a resale market.

Got my Vega blue and controller today.

Initial impressions:

Unit is well built.

Controller a bit touchy. Set up, wireless connection and simple programming was easy and user friendly (now I can't wait what Director will offer). Much better then older knob style controller.
