I have a 125 gallon DT with a 55 gallon sump/fuge and I am running an ASM2 skimmer. My tank has a tight fitting top to prevent jumping. I also feed Nori every few days for the tangs and blenny.

My current stocking list is
Ocellaris Clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris)
McCosker's Flasher Wrasse (Paracheilinus mccoskeri)
Starry Blenny (Salarias ramosus)
Powder Brown Tang (Acanthurus japonicus)
Yellow Tang - Hawaii (Zebrasoma flavescens)
Blue/Green Reef Chromis (Chromis viridis)
Dispar Anthias (Pseudanthias dispar)
Red Mandarin (Synchiropus cf. splendidus)
Firefish, Purple (Nemateleotris decora)

Am I at capacity now or do I have any room? I was looking to add one of the following fish (or more if there was room).

Pink Margin Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus rubrimarginatus)
Tanaka's Pygmy Wrasse (Wetmorella tanakai)
Filamented Flasher Wrasse (Paracheilinus filamentosus)

one of these would be fine, I would opt for one of the the two at the top of the list as the last one might have negative interaction with your firefish

Steve,
Looking at an addition to the tank to help with algae control. Tank spec: standard 120, HSA-1000 skimmer (rated to 750, but let's say 400 under load), 100g rubbermaid sump (~60g), 29g refug w/ cheato, carbon/gfo, 2 x vortech 40s, and reeflo pump.
Current Load:
2 x blue throat trigger (pair)
2 x black and white chromis (pair)
2 x RBTA and the most docile Gold Stripe Maroon ever (5 years old and only cares about the RBTA, doesn't even bite me when I feed the nems).
Arc eye hawk

Looking at a fox face. Also thinking about a watchman goby, as nothing chills at the bottom of the tank.

I never keep fishes that I cannot provide a permanent home for. So, yes, I would remove it and replace it with a more suitable fish. I do not provide recommendations for a variety of reasons, but I would be more than happy to analyze a stocking list.

What will be the most suitable number of fishes that i may put in a 20g tank and the rockscape is very minimal. Thanks

In our country, they say that 1 fish = 10 gallons so 20gal is only equal to two fishes. And for me, i still cant believe about this calculation (moreover, because i have a minimal rockscape)

There is no "rule" in saltwater; there are guidelines in fresh water. I would put only two small fish in a 20 gallon tank.

Hello,

I have a 75 gallon which has been cycling for a couple months. I will be putting LEDs up soon and installing a 20 gallon sump. I'd like to have softies and some LPS for the foreseeable future.

My ultimate goal is to keep a mandarin. I have been mulling over tank mates.

This is what I am thinking:

1 x Tailspot Blenny or Bicolor Blenny
1,2, possibly 3 flasher wrasses
1 purple firefish
1 mandarin

The kids may like a pair of clowns, probably ocellaris. I'd add them last (a year or so down the road). Does this make sense?

I will be putting a DIY mesh top on the tank. Hope to contain any jumpers.

Thanks much!

Yes, you clearly know that the flasher wrasses and firefish are prolific jumpers. 1/4 inch holes are a requirement. The stocking list is fine. Firefish, first.

Any thoughts on the addition of a foxface to a 120 from a couple posts ago?
Thanks

sorry, I missed that one! I would be concerned about the trigger pair. But it might work out, I cannot definitively say. Long established semi-aggressive fish can make it very difficult to add any fish. The larger the tank, the more likely it would be to work. A 120 is probably too small to make the odds in your favor.

I only have 3 hermits and LOTS of extra shells so hopefully they wont harm too many snails... should I get rid of the damsel?

and when you say my tank cant sustain the green mandarin, why is that so? is it because of the size of tank? or because there will be another goby competing for food? I have a fuge with chaeto and when I look at the glass I see lots of copepods...

hermits will always kill snail no matter how many extra shells you have

I would. Presumably you used it to cycle your tank which is not best practice now a days.

mandarins eat constantly. A refugium helps, but smaller tanks can be a problem. You may get lucky, but a larger tank is preferable especially if there is competition for food.

Current Tank:29 show, reef octopus dh90, 2xseio 620, 30lb rock, 60lb sand. Still in cycle.
Would like:
1x ocellaris
1xsix line wrasse
1xbicolor blenny
1,2?xanthias

Would this be too much bioload considering the size of my skimmer?
Also this will be a mixed reef with sps eventually.

the bioload will be acceptable but the anthias will not be happy in that sized tank. The six line will limit tank mates.

I would not add a second largish grazer in a 75 gallon tank.

The number of fish is less relevant than whether they will fit in behaviorally. As those who follow this thread know, I do not provide recommendations for a variety of reasons. However, I would be more than happy to review any perspective tank mates for compatibility.
