No Fish Drama
Hi,
I'm very new to the aquarium scene, and I am in the midst of cycling my 55 gal with about 70 pounds of rock, and a protein skimmer. Although I know this forum is intended to check out my intended purchases, I have no clue as to where to start. I know I should have some cleaner snails, or something of that ilk, but I am confused as to what exactly I should have. I consider those cleaners like a baseball manager would think of the bullpen. If the bullpen isn't good the team has no chance to win. So I was thinking to get about 4 or 5 fishes, and some soft and hard corals. What kind of fish or fishes (depending if you are an english major) would you recommend? What types of cleaning crew would work with these said fishes..? All I want is to have a nice aquarium, with some friendly and fun fish. |

Thinking of a revision to my fish list
75g DT, 20gL refugium currently have (2) Banggai Cardinals and (2) Ocellaris clownfish, (2) tiny hermits, (1) emerald crab and assorted snails. I currently have no corals but I will be adding once the tank matures.
I'm thinking for future additions in the order of introduction: (1 or 2) square back (pink square) anthias (1) yellow watchmen goby (1) Kole or bristle tooth tange your thoughts?

Oo yea, I forgot to mention I would not get the mandarin since you said my tank would not sustain it, maybe when I upgrade tanks. But my list is good then? 1 damsel, 1 firefish, 1 fairy wrasse, 1 clown, and one goby? or should I take the damsel out?

The single clownfish will become female. While not as bad, still aggressive. Even then it would be best to get one of the lesser aggressive species such as A. percula. GSM clowns would be too aggressive for your tank.

Hi everyone, before I begin here are some details about my tank: Glass 29 Gallon tank, Marineland C-220 canister filter, Coralife 50/50 6 Watt light, 1 Theo heater, 1 JNS VS-1 Aquaria protein skimmer, 2 Koraline nano 425 gph powerheads, 30 lb live rock, 30 lb live sand.
I posted on this thread before I added any livestock and would like to just double check my updated selection. I currently have 2 Ocellaris clowns, 1 Blue Tuxedo urchin, 1 blue hermit crab, 2 Turbos, 6 Ceriths, 1 Astraea snail and one frag of blue Xenia. Id like to add the following to the tank over the next few months: Fish (In order of how I would introduce them) -1 Wheelers Shrimp Goby or 1 Pink Spotted Watchman Goby -1 Blue/Green Chromis (I realize 5 fish may push the limits. If so, this would be the fish I am willing to give up) -1 Dwarf Flame Angel (I realize these are not technically reef safe but I have heard that they aren't too detrimental. Mey depend on the individual) Inverts (I hope this is not overkill) -2 Scarlet Skunk Cleaner Shrimp -1 Peppermint Shrimp -1 Tiger Snapping Shrimp (to pair with one of the gobys) -3 more Cerith snails -2 Nassarius Snails -1 Ninja Star Astraea snail I would like to eventually add a number of corals to the tank so I have tried to take this into account (I will increase the lighting soon). I would appreciate any help/ suggestions that you may have. Thank you so much for your help! |

Fish Wish List
Hi I'm currently cycling my 55 gallon tank but once done I would like to add these fish.
FISH LIST A pair of ocellaris clowns A royal gramma A neon blue goby A school of blue green chromis maybe 3 or 4 And 3 yellowtail damsels adding them last so they're not as aggressive INVERT LIST: 2 skunk shrimp I would like a hermit crab (any good suggestions) And a few snails (any good suggestions) I would love to get a starfish but don't know if I'm over stocked with the fish I have. If I'm not over stocked which starfish would work and look cool amongst all the fish and inverts. |
