Sweet glad you guys got the washers. The 6-32 is a really tight fit. It'll either be perfect or slightly too tight. You can grind it open just a hair (.01mm or 0.02mm) and it would be perfect. Wasn't really feeling like doing a group order. Too much logistical headaches.

How is everybody running their skimmer? From drain or pump, which is better? Thanks.

I think you misunderstood my previous post...I have NOT been able to order anything. The min orders were $180 and $150. Any chance you might be able to order for me and pecan? If so, lets discuss via PM....Thanks! |

Anyone else want to order some ceramic washers with me?
The min order is $175 (I might be able to work it down to $150)...I figure if we all order $30 worth we'll be good to go on ceramic washers for years to come. PM me if interested. |

By the number of PMs I received we should be good to go for the order. Once I get everyones money I'll place the order and then it'll take about a week for them to make the washers plus shipping time. When I get the order I'll divide it per the instructions below and ship out to everyone.
Instead of replying to everyone PMs I'll give all the details here and if you're still interested shoot me a paypal...remember to send it as a gift as I'm not actually selling you anything. I've called several manufacturers and $175 is the min order for the one that gave me the best service. My second choice's min order was still $150. If I don't receive enough orders I'll simply refund everyone's money and we'll keep changing SS washers, but like I said I thing we're in good shape. The 1260's require four washers (two on the top and two on the bottom of the impeller) per pump, assuming everything is in descent shape. If you have excessive wear on the impeller you might need an extra washer on the top or bottom as needed. $30 for a single pump will get you 8 washers and include shipping or $55 for two pumps and that gets you 8 washers per pump and includes shipping or $80 for three pumps and that gets you 8 washers per pump and includes shipping Here's my paypal: usafjc@gmail.com I'm pumped (pun intended) at the thought of not having to replace SS washers again...and the pump running cooler is also a plus! |

glad your making sure extra washers are included. I can't emphasis how brittle the washers are. Drop the imellors into the pump with care. The magnetics sucking the impellor in is enough to break the washers. Must drop them in slow and as an assembly.
Your ordering the Alumina or Zirconia washers right? |

Couldn't you place the bottom bushing on the ceramic shaft then 2 ceramic washers on, lower this into the pump and slowly lower the impellar with a needle nose down the placed shaft or is this not a good idea? |

You can do that too but the problem still exist. The momentum from the impellor when sucked in by the magnets can break the washer. Its a problem with the design. Just use a needle nose pliers and lower slowly and you'll be fine.

What other eheim skimmer pump do you have? I'm ordering a certain washer based on the size of the impeller shaft of the 1260. If you need another size it shouldn't be a be deal...I just need to know the size of the shaft in comparison to the 1260 shaft. I'd imagine you're talking about a smaller shaft right? |

Is anybody feeding their skimmer through the drain also using the Herbie's method? Can it be done?
