That is the fixture I really wanted but it was not available or in my price range at the time.

No reviews because they are all new fixtures here. Giesemann has not had a presence here for a while now.

I have a hybrid on the way too . ATI though .. plans within plans...

Thanks Shred, I've watched all the Aurora videos on youtube (about 5 of them!) but they don't really give you too much information. There is one that looks really good, 17 minutes long, heaps of demonstration and talking about the fixture.....but it's in German!!

No colors chosen on the ATI hybrid . it'll sit in the box if i do another build .

Dave ,

I thought it was the ATI mention that doesn't belong in this thread .

The 2 foot matrixx ii doesn't come in 6 or 8 bulb flavors or even the dimtec option . Chris stated the ballast will not fit properly ..
So it's a 4 bulb 2 foot unit going over a IM Fusion 40 Nano .
There are those odd screws ? on the front and back sides that may hold a reef brite . I thought the glass shield under the bulbs was some type of glass but it's some type of acrylic material. A top section on the light is glass.

I am a little confused?
You bought a ati hybrid and a matrixx?
Yea when I was doing my cube I wanted a matrixx in 8 bulb and they didn't have it. With cubes becoming so popular they will loose sales there.

Yes , that is correct ... If u have seen my build thread , can't u tell by the title .

FWIW . Its on u know where ..

I didn't get the undrilled 57 rimless . Other half was fussing over me overdoing it . As a result I chose a NUVO Fusion 40 . It will be lit by the
Matrixx ii .

I can't hang it from the vaulted ceilings .I may just use bent conduit or 80/20

Thinking about getting an Giesemann Futura LED Fixture. I have a 75 gal peninsula tank that's 48x24x20 high. What do you guys think?
If you check out the coralvue web site for the futura the pic of the tank and light is almost identical to my tank.

For consideration please email me at chris@coralvue.com along with the following information:

1. Brand, length and color of T5 lamps currently in use?
2. Which fixture brand are you using, or DIY?
3. Size of aquarium and type of corals?
4. Please provide a current photo of your aquarium.

Three hobbyists will be selected based on criteria that we have already developed. All we are asking is for honest feedback on the look and performance of the new range of Giesemann T5 lamps.

Thanks,

Those Giesemann T5 fixture owners out there, I was just wondering what combinations you use? Have ordered the Aurora and coming from a purely LED background I'm not sure what my best options are. I ordered 2x Aquablue coral and 2x Super purple but was just wondering what people thought of this and if there is a better option? Obviously I'll have LEDs to supplement but am really relying on the T5s for the majority of my acropora growth and colour.

Once I've got it over the tank I'll try and do a little video or a few photos. Took ages to set up, the instructions were really thorough but my German isn't the best!!

I think that will be the best hybrid on the market.

I am amazed at the pricing of these fixtures. My boss paid over $2,600 in 2000 for a 2 x 250w HQI / 2 T10 lamp Moon Light Fixture. At the time I thought it was crazy but after 15 years it still works great, I am sure this Aurora will be just as good.
