I've seen this before in the past as well. Found a clam nearby through a porous channel in the rock, so may have been an expulsion from one of the clams vents ( insert proper terminology for water vent here ). May have even been a oyster as it was dark grey

This was sold at the LFS as a Marble Tile Starfish but I haven't seen any pictures online of marble or tile starfish (or any fromia for that matter) that has as consistent a coverage of markings. He is a bit more red on the back between the tiles than this image makes him appear. I have had him about 6 weeks and he seems fairly happy and want to know more to make sure he stays that way.
Thanks, Chris Last edited by rajczi; 01/29/2015 at 05:33 PM. Reason: Change image urls since they didn't load (attaching instead) |

Looks like a fromia indica to me...they come in a variety of patterns. BTW, this is a hitchiker forum...think there might be another one for non hitchikers? Not sure?

Im still am not sure what this guy is. Here is a better video.
It's a long "hairy" worm. You can see it laying horizontally on rock inside cave.

I thought that was the point of these forums; exchanging information. My apologies for offending.

Hey guys. I just noticed this growing from live rock. Seems to be the only one in the DT? Any ideas? Safe? Harmful?

How about this Lil critter? Bivalve of some sort
Any guesses? Love this place. Found it under one of my rocks as I was getting all my fish out to quarantine for ich. Was partially opened and had its foot out for a bit. It is the shell under the nassarius and to the right of the mushroom.

Thanks cloak-good info. I also found another critter which I believe is a bivalve that has funky points or serrations on its shell. My wife snapped pics of it-will post soon.

Please please can someone offer me a ID on these little things fast... Appeared on a mushroom coral frag I bought a couple of days ago.
Mushroom is about an inch by inch and a half. Little things on it seems to be around 3mm. Moving slowly. Brown ish with a white vertical stripe and other white bits too. |

Flatworms perhaps? It's kind of hard to tell from those pictures.
