I ordered 4 for my 8 foot tank and even when turned all the way down it was just too much flow. I only run two of them now about half speed. Been running for about 10 months now with no issues.

Really? Too much?

I don't think that's a problem for me. I've got mine up 100%.

I'm running a single wp40 on my 92 corner and I feel like it's too much. It would probably be perfect if I I was running a regular rectangular 90. No compaints about the pump itself though. Can't beat the price for what you get.

I've got the battle ry, just need to find a charger and I'll be in business. I will try to upload a pic.
Will the pump work if the mains supply goes off and the Apex is also offline? How did you get the 0-5v to the pump using the battery backup? I have tried a similar setup with DPDT relay, but had difficulty getting the 0-5v to the pump, when on battery backup alone.

No kidding the price was really up my ally. I had an MP40 on this same tank three years ago but sold it wheni took the system down 18 months ago. I really wanted to get another one but I knew that I wanted to go full on SPS with this system and do it right. They just where not in the budget though. I already spent 800 on the Kessil 360. The Jebao is so perfect for my setup it's crazy, cost, flow, and control. I don't see a down side.

simple voltage regulator will do the trick. 12 or 24 volt battery feeds the pump and regulator feeds the control line with either 3 or 5 volts to make it simple.....

or powering the stock controller input directly from the battery, with relay switching from the psu over to battery, which then provides the voltage to controll the speed of the pump.

Either works depending on what you needs are.

I used a dpdt relay too. To get your 1-5 volt signal use a voltage divider (consists of 2 resistors). Your relay can switch 2 wires, so use one for switching the 24v hot wire powering your pump. Use the other for switching your signal wire from the Apex to a signal from the battery that gets cut down by that voltage divider circuit from 12 volts to whatever you want.

Get a big honkin deep cycle battery, I'm guessing it could run a wp40 for 24 to 48 hours.

(Make your voltage divider out of 1 resistor and 1 variable resistor (potentiometer) and you can then set the speed the pump will run during power failure by turning the little pot up or down)

my WP40 suddenly stopped working, the controller lights are flashing & the pump its self cuts on and off every second anybody have any idea whats going on? I tried a vinegar bath and that didn't work. I do however notice that if I unplug the pump from the controller the lights in the controller go back to being steady. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is the light sensor on?

I took the light sensor off lastnight wasnt a big fan, and had it running on h3, it was working fine. When I came downstairs to leave for work this morning that's when I noticed it wasn't working anymore. I just tried it again the H3, sensor , & S3 lights are flashing and the pump does a single pulse every other second. Lights go star when I unplug the pump from the controller. I got the wp40 from a local reefer for free when I purchased a couple of other items from his breakdown.

Try reinstalling the sensor.

Does the sensor need to be in place to complete a circuit? Mine comes tomorrow.

The power supply cord is a common problem with this pump. Do you have a spare supply cord from a computer or something laying around?

Doesn't sound like a PS cord though.
Then the controller, would not have any power.

See if there is a steady light on the power brick, if so the transformer is getting power and the cord is fine.

If not replace the cord and see what happens.

Check for plug retention, there may not be good electrical connections at the source. Flare out the contacts or try putting pressure on the plug one way or the other. If that's not I would say it's the power supply due to the light on the brick being dim. As another had stated you could replace the power supply with another that provides the exact power output. Check with local battery outlets or computer repair folks they may have something laying around.

Also check the connection at the power supply from the source. Could be bad connection there, try replacing the cord with another. A standard desktop cord will work or similar.

thanks for all the help guys, my return pump is a Diablo dc 3500 which actually has the same exact power supply. I mean it literally has the same manufacturer's sticker on it. Once I get home ill test the wp40 using the supply from the return pump. if the power supply is indeed the culprit I will purchase two, one to use and one as a spare.
