I have an email out to DA now to confirm. I hope I'm wrong but if I'm right then who in their right mind would do that? At that price buy a vortech...completely defeats the purpose of buying the WP pumps to begin with. If anyone on here has any additional info or can correct me if I'm wrong, please let me know.
Completely agree! This is another module that will sit on the shelf. What a waste of research efforts and money by DA.

Been reading a few of the threads on the wp40's and 25's. Just noticed some new models came out. Can someone make a recommendation for which pumps I should get for my 48" 120g display tank? I would like the dual controller but I think 2 40's would be overkill? I'm also setting up a 48"x24"x12" frag tank and was wondering whether I could pull off the wp25 or a wp10.
Any suggestions would be great!

Yeah I had one die after I cleaned it. I think I damaged something disassembling it. It would try to move but wouldn't spin.. It lasted about a year. Bought another one tho why not only $80

I would do a 40 and a 25 if you wanted a lot of flow. (Sps) I have a 40 in my 75 and its plenty
For the frag the 25 would be good in my opinion since there are just frags in it.

Yes, it's the DC1 that plugs into the APC module, so you would need both.
It sucks, but if you have a ton already invested into DA, then you're kinda stuck. So I can pay $179 now or $1,000 to get the equivalent of what I currently have with DA from Neptune, or $1,500 with Reef Angel, or $1,500 from puratek (a local outfit with WAY more cool options, like flow sensors, non-intrusive level sensors, ip cameras, etc.)

If I were to change, it would obviously be to Puratek, but unless I hit the lottery or finally claim my lost inheritance from the Republic of Zamoonda, I can't change right now. (and that's obviously what DA's counting on)

I have two WP-40s on my 120, 48" tank and I would defiantly say it is not over kill. I now have both on full power, one set to W3 and the other W1. I get the gentle side to side motion wave, and chaotic water movement with this set up. Very pleased.

Thx for the replies. After seeing a couple YouTube videos of the 40's, pretty intense, I'm leaning towards a 40 and 25.
Thx again!

I have a lot of rocks, and once your corals grow in, you will want the extra flow.

I'm not very good at gluing my corals down and keep picturing zoo's flying around my tank.

Nothing in my tank is glued down except a Monti is glued to the overflow and nothing has budged. I don't know why everyone seems to think it's too much flow. For me is just right and they are at max power. But hey! Buy what you want.

Anyone know where to got a new night sensor? When I opened mine up, I didn't notice a sensor, prolly dropped it. I prefer a sensor that is about 5 feet long, so I can put the sensor in the canopy, and the controller in the stand.

I have a 100 gal tank, 60x18x24. C2C over flow. First timer. How should I place 2 Jebao WP40?

I was thinking having them on each side of the tank. One at perfect mid tank pointing slightly up and in front of live rocks. The other one about 1/3 upper tank, pointing toward the top, behind the live rocks.

suggestions?

That sounds good. I think you should go with that then make adjustments so that you don't have any dead spots. Mine are at far ends of the tank, they don't point directly at each other one points to the back and forces water behind the rocks and the other kinda points in the middle. The two power heads current smash into each other in the middle of the system and this crests a nice chaotic flow and no dead spots. Very happy with the flow.

I didn't want to read through 181 pages here. So I thought it would simple to ask

I have a 180 reef tank, with a WP40 and WP 25 on the otherwise

Any mods to hook both up to my Apex controller ?

I also have a rimless 57 I'm starting, and like to run the powerhead through the Apex on that one also. Just not sure if I'm going to go with. 25 or 40 on that tank yet

Yep, but you have to make the cable yourself or there is someone selling them on ebay. If you want to make them you can use the Jebao reefangle cables and modify them. If you search you will find threads on how to do it. I made mine myself because it was before they were listed on ebay. It cost me a little more to make mine than he is selling them for. The ebay sellers name is markpelt2009. Search Apex Jebao Cable and it should come up.

No problem. It really takes the Jebaos to the next level. I have mine setup with different feed, day, dusk/dawn, and night profiles so the intensity/frequency changes along with my lighting schedule.

I just received my jaebo wp-40's with dual controller a week ago. My model has a built in night sensor so no more lost little pin sensors to buy. Also with the two pumps on one controller it really increases the capability of the pumps compared to others i have seen with two seperate pumps. Mine are on a glass 180 with a euro braced top and there is no way i could run them both wide open on most of the settings without water on the floor. I run the "c" setting with both pumps throttled down two settings. It is an amazing pump and really adds to the system.

Are the built in night sensors decent, because the other ones sucked, but at least you could replace them with ones that worked better.

You can't do that with a built in one,or at least easily.
