I have a couple of hitchhikers that I am hoping you all can identify. The first is a small red tube about 1/8 to 1/4 inch long that lets out a long streamer that is about 2-3 inches long. I only noticed a couple of them but now there are about a dozen and no longer confined to the rock they started on.
Red Tube The second item appears to be some form of brittle or serpent starfish but has 6 arms instead of 5. Starfish video 1 Starfish video 2 Thanks, Chris |

I would give this an 80% yes - could also be limpets (the image is rather small for me to be sure) |

Yep, it's some kind of pest anemone.

Olive Green Clear Hard Eggs?
Found these olive green eggs?? in a couple of places. One group attached to a polyp frag and one group to a small piece of LR. They look jelly like to the eye but they are hard to the touch. Pic attached... Any ideas?

Your stars are just cool little "micro brittle stars". They'll stay at that size.

Just found this this morning in a zoa frag I put in my tank just now. While I do see several feather dusters on the frag also, just not quite sure what this is? FYI I'm talking about the brownish little branch sticking up.

Looks like some sort of clavulariid (like glove polyps), they are harmless but might spread.

You're welcome! There are probably hundreds of species, though, so I'm not sure if there's a way to id the polyp further, even with a better picture.

Photo taken in the bottom of a 6oz clear cup (hence the 6.. for sizing) It is not attached to the snail shell... although there was a smaller one there too so I took it out of the QT also. This one was on a piece of eggcrate, it broke off but I also clipped off that section of crate- just in case.
Thanks! Andrew |

Looks like a light-starved mushroom / disc anemone.

Ever since I started my cycle I've kept my refugium filled with live rock. After some advice, decided to pull the rock from the refugium and just have it bare so that the detritus can settle or flow through the refugium easier and be picked-up by the skimmer.
When I pulled the live rock out of the refugium, I noticed small growths all over the rock. Can't tell if they are alive or not (they don't move from what I can tell). They are cream in color and range in size from about 1/16th an inch to maybe 1/3 an inch. They are soft and can be pulled off the rock. I keep no light in my refugium. Pictures below. The first picture is a piece of egg crate that was left in my refugium as well. Any ideas what these are?? Good, bad, indifferent? |

Since you have larger ones in there, too, I'd say young pineapple sponges (Sycon sp.).

Does it move or is it stationary?
It could be a tiny specimen of the anemone Thalassianthus aster, or it could be some soft coral etc. Very hard to say at that size... If it moves at all, that does rule out soft corals, though... |
